Jacobs was great! I love that he was trying to hand Nye his ass on a plate. However frustrating it must of been ( and I could certainly feel his frustration ) he needed to keep it under control for credibility sake,,,however in this case and the way the show was being handled.... Kudos to him.

Paracast should get Jacobs, Stan and that ass hat from SETI in one room and have a rumble cast!

Thanks for posting that. I think these shows need to get people on who can be a skeptic about specific evidence, not just a skeptic for skeptic's sake. I would like to see a discussion about those documents and the context of them. Nye seemed like he knew a little about that one incidence but not much.

By the way, almost 8 minutes into the first video the one guy (Salas?) is talking about an object shooting a beam at a missile. There is footage on the screen, but I thought the guy said the original footage was confiscated. Anyway, the video that CNN put up was interesting, you could see the "beam" extend and retract. That looked very strange.

Oh, and I understand why Jacobs got mad, but he started the jabs at Nye in a pretty petty, childish way.

The video in question is a reconstruction (not real footage) from James Fox's documentary "Out of the Blue" (5-Years Anniversary Edition) where Jacobs incident is also featured.

Almost all of the background UFO footage during all of the recent Larry King Shows are from the "Out of the Blue". The ones with the "yelow logo" in the right side of the screen are from the edition "UFOs: The Original Footage Archvies". Description is available here:

On the cover you can also see the same "yelow logo" - I guess it stands for "2000 Film Productions".

Alot of the footage shown in the background are taken from Fox's "out of the blue" and were not related too the witness testimony...
The specific incident you referred too(Jacobs);where the "ufo" is shining a beam on the missile,is a re-creation...

Ok thanks! That explains the extending/retracting beam better. I didn't realize it was a recreation from Out of the Blue. Thanks!
 
I have been listening to The Paracast for the past six months and just saw the Larry King video on CNN today. Never posted to a forum before but thought I would let you all know about the video. HA HA. How naive was I. Glad to see you are all on top of it. Thanks to Gene and David for their wonderful critical approach to these matters. Such mainstream intelligent discussion of the UFO phenomenon as we saw on the video bodes well for something happening in the near future. I just feel it. But of course time will tell.
 
Well, at least I've seen the latest Larry show too. Of course watching Bill Nye once again was just spectacular!! What an .....l, you know what I mean;)

Now about Seth, the interesting thing is that I used to participate at the SETI project as a guy who among many others downloaded the application to calculate a huge math task for the proceeding the information which was coming and still is from the big radio telescope. And for a few years I did believe that I was doing something important but now it doesn't make any sense for me. This is like to launch a big project to search for a chocolate out there, while you can go next store and buy plenty of it! So my point is Seth is really in a position when he is and will say whatever it takes to justify SETI in order to keep his job or rather to help keeping everybody's attention on de-e-ep space. This is like 'guys, don't pay attention to what's going on in front of your nose, keep looking far-far away....!'

From the other side I was glad to see James Fox is making a big progress with his second movie, I'd downloaded 'Out of the blue' from YouTube and put on my iPod Touch to keep it with me as I really liked the way he put all things which I consider credible stuff together. So you can imagine how I anticipate to see the second one.

I remember how Stan was talking on the Paracast about he is going to be on the Larry King's show but I guess he really didn't know what a sceptic (read 'debunker') will be invited on the show.

It was nice to see Jacobs and Salas as I don't have a slightest suspicious about their honesty, I hope James Fox will able with their help and with a help from his France and British contacts to move things further.
