the situation is so frustrating, hamas should be wiped out for no other reason than the sheer stupidity of the organisation, if you dont have an air force, and a battalion or two of tanks...... dont pick a fight with someone who does....

they did the same thing in lebanon recently, and left the poor civilians to wear the results.

i have little sympathy for the palestinian people because at the last democratic election they voted for a hamas govt.
to my mind they abused their democratic priviledge in doing so, they could have voted in a govt based around law and order and the peaceful creation of social infrastructure, instead they voted for a govt they knew would be a slap in the face to the peace process and only encourage more shenanigans.

i see the stupid SOB's on the telly calling for the world to insist on a cease fire , while hamas is still launching rockets......

obviously what they really want is to be able to lob rockets, without the conseqences.......

The crusades, the Inquisition, the enslavement of Africa under the guise of "missionary work", the conflicts in Northern Ireland... the hands of christians are by no account free of blood. The fact that these are not recent historical activities does nothing to erase or disguise them. For someone who claims to have studied so much history, you don't appear to have learned very much.

And in point of fact you DO see christian preachers calling down destruction upon the "enemies of god" all the time. Every Sunday in fact... just turn on your tv.

In this one point you were correct: Extemism is extremism and it is always destructive. You cannot ignore the fact however, that it has no single allegiance nor is it limited to any one period of time.

Let's stop for a moment to deal with facts, not the distortions offered by uninformed opinion.
The first and original "crusade" was initiated by Muslims, not Christians. It began after the death of the "prophet" Mohamed in the seventh century and did not end until the Ottomans were defeated for a second time at the gates of Vienna in 1683.
During that period of conquest, untold millions fell under the sword. Millions more were forced to convert to an alien religion under penalty of death, social ostracism or confiscatory taxes levied on infidels.
The Muslim terror destroyed not only the native systems of faith in the conquered lands, but their languages and cultures as well. They burned the libraries of older, more enlightened civilizations on the pretext that all knowledge worth knowing was to be found in the Qu'ran. While European armies have engaged in the same sort of barbarism against the peoples of the Americas in the past, the level of destruction visited by the Caliphs' fanatic followers is unprecedented. When they destroyed the manuscripts in the restored Library of Alexandria, humanity was deprived of most of its written history.

I am not a Zionist. Stones, sand and weeds are not sacred. Human life is. My people would have been better served if they had pooled whatever funds they could scrape together after the Holocaust and bought some real estate as far away form the Levant as possible. Maybe in South America, or even Madagascar, where Hitler originally wanted to exile them. Whatever location they may have chosen, it would have been far better than that hellhole they're stranded in now.

As far as the current conflict may be measured, what did you want the Israelis to do when the missiles started flying during what was supposed to be a cease fire? Run around in circles trying to catch rockets in their teeth?

The Arabs have one goal which they have repeated over and over again: wipe Israel off the map. Period. That's it. This bullshit about the tragedy of a displaced people fighting for their rights is a malicious fiction most often spread by people who know better, yet use it to further other agendas. The Palestenians were well paid for the land grants given to Israel, and they already have a homeland. It's called the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. I say haul all their ignorant, lazy,whining, murderous asses there as quickly as possible. Within six months they'll start killing Jordanians and Syrians, and the rest of the world can breathe a sigh of relief.

I don't think for one second anyone with a function brain is going to say that the Muslims are simply "getting a bad rap" but in no way do their actions absolve or erase the blood shed by christian crusaders and their descendants in their fanatical pursuit of the "one, true god".

There is nothing "uniformed" or "distorted" about that. Slaughter is slaughter and that blood is on christian hands, FOR ALL TIME.

Question for you, Ironlung. Why are these people so fucked up? Have you ever considered that? Here is a little FACT for you.

In 1952 the CIA overhtrew their western schooled, democratic president Mohammad Mossadegh because he would not give the oil fields up to British and US interests. After they got him out off office, based on LIES, they put in the "Shah" who caused the decline of the area.

Who created the Mujahadin? CIA. Who trained them? Zbigniew Brezniski, as a means to fight Russia in the late 1970's.

Maybe, just maybe the US has some of the blame here? Maybe? Think long and hard about that before you declare genocide on people.

You do remember the fact that Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations nationalized their oil after Shell, and Texaco built everything. They literally stole all the hardware and technical knowhow from the west. Without us, they'd still be living in the middle ages.

It's a pity we ever got involved.
