I want a telescope like that! During the whole Bob Lazar affair, did Lear not bring out a 10" Celestron telescope? (paraphrasing a little, I don't know about these things)

Do things like quality telescopes hold their value well or just the opposite? As I would consider a second-hand one as a starter. I know no back-yard telescope is gonna show me the Apollo remnants on the lunar surface, but it would still be really cool looking at the mountains and mare's.
Some day when military-spec night vision goggles are reasonably priced, I'll be at the head of the queue. I still think Ed Grimsley has captured some fascinating night vision footage. Maybe not alien spacecraft but without a doubt, something very interesting indeed.....
