Again, I don't think I share your opinion. One of my idols, Spanish author & researcher J.J. Benítez, was once interviewed and asked about this End Times brouhaha; his response was very interesting, because he said the idea that the s#%t was going to hit the fan pretty soon was ludicrous.
He said that if we compared the lifestyle of the poorer sectors of society today, with how peasants lived in the Middle Ages, it was evident that we've done real progress in advancing the quality of life. A lower middle-class citizen in Europe lives far better than a Medieval king did in terms of health, education, and entertainment.
The reason we might feel otherwise it's because we're being constantly bombarded with news reports showing all kinds of disasters. But that has always been the case in the history of mankind! the difference is that instead of learning about a cataclysm that happened on the other side of the world 100 years later, today you learn about it 100
seconds later.
If anything, the bright side is that we are becoming more intolerant to injustice and human suffering, even the suffering of people we'll never have the chance to meet in person --and that is not necessarily a bad thing IMO
So whenever I get depressed about global events, I remember Benítez's words.
True, that doesn't mean there's LOTS of work that needs to be done to fix our planet. But we need to keep a positive attitude about it, lest we become overwhelmed & desperate.
...Or maybe I just woke up today with a good mood
