Oct 26th show

Well at least on MY computer the new show shows the date of October 19. There are two October 19th listings showing but the newer one indicates that it is Mac Tonnies. I listened to a little bit of the show and it was last weeks show???

I am running a virus check. My computer skills are about as good as my spelling! I will give you money if you go out to a bar and have a buncn of young girls steel your bag and 100 dollars that you were going to give to a friend who had a family memeber that just commited suicide.

I just checked it and it does indeed work.

I envy Gil. He's had it better than me.

No, this isn't a pity attempt for money.

I haven't listened yet, but I'm guessing you're referring to a commercial? Be glad the woo woos are giving the Paracast money. Gene and Dave will make better use out of it.

Yeah a commercial. I have no problem with them supporting the show. I just found it amusing.

I am about 27minutes into the podcast. Do you remember that part where David says that people call him an elitist, because he has a qualified expert opinions in image analysis. And then Gene says people don't want an elitist, they want an ordinary average person who says "you betchca!". That was funny wasn't it?

This reference to Sarah Palin was hillarious. It is becoming so difficult to keep politics out of any discussion of topics on the Paracast. Politics is reaching the point of becoming almost paranormal in nature. It may not be avoidable to include politics as a major issue in future discussions. The strangest part of politics is the way that that people's perception of reality can be so easily influenced regarding their political "beliefs". I suggest Gene and Dave could have an episode with a sociologist as a guest, discussing this phenomenon. I think the Paracast listeners could handle it.

To be serious for a moment: Maybe if we had more elitists in the government — people who are uniquely qualified to do the job they are hired to do — we'd have fewer screw-ups. Maybe something would get done that would help the people, keep taxes down, balance the budget, etc. Instead, we get officials who'd barely qualify as "average," and perhaps barely qualify for entry-level positions in the private sector.

LOL i liked this advert too, it made me think that next week they'll be advertising nuclear bomb shelters. Still its actually a pretty good idea, particularly with a credit crunch to end all credit crunches coming up!

Good show by the way

Some interesting nuggets.

David talking with Bassett and coming away dare I say sounding 'sympathetic?'. Very interesting.

While IMO Steve is in no way a fraud with financial motivations (I think his intentions are mostly legit), I do think he is misguided, stubborn, overgeneralizes and can be a bit of a crudmudgeon. But....... he has put his ass on the line for this which is more than I can say for myself. The guy has balls, but so do a lot of other people....

Mac's take on Hoagland was interesting and refreshing. Hoagland seems to create mountains out of optical artifact molehills.

I also found Mac's take on the seemingly 'staged' quality to some of the UFO contacts is very interesting. This is something that Jaque Vallee pointed out in his book Revelations in regards to the Rendlesham case as well as another case that took place in France. I believe Vallee was able to deduct the French case was most likley a psy-op experiment to see if a UFO sighting can be used to manipulate public opinion.

Also, I agree with David's theory that we are here on Earth to learn. After reading the Schwartz book recently and having thought about it over the years, the idea that we are in this physical form to learn and had a hand in determining our own personal story lines is something I think is very possible. But.......... just because it's possible and there is soft evidence for this, doesn't mean you have the right to go around and say that people who were brutally murdered asked for that to happen.

That's like saying 'Don't feel bad for Jennifer Hudson, remember, her family chose to be brutally murdered........."

I would also ad, Mac's idea we exist in a flawed computer program............... I think our reality could completely be the matrix for souls that want to learn, but I personally think many of the things that he would consider 'flaws' are the same things that probably help us develop and learn. If everything is hunky dory in the physical realm, you probably wouldn't learn nearly as much as when you face obstacles.

I enjoy any Paracast show with Mac Tonnies, his insights are intelligent, yet still stretch the envelope.

I used to enjoy some of Hoagland's insights as well at one time, but his so-called "research" has taken on that P.T. Barnum carnival atmosphere, especially with the "photo-enhancement" bullshit.

Anything can be photo-enhanced into anything.

Apparently Richard isn't finished milking this cash-cow yet, he must still be selling his last "book" fairly easily.

But it seems he has his eye on the "diamond!"

Hang on while I put on my flak jacket... okay all set. Now on to my point.

If you believe that we are here to learn, that earth is a school for souls then that's one thing. Life is still a random collection of experiences.

If however you believe there is a "lesson plan" drawn up before you achieve corporeal existence then absolutely everything that happens to you, up to and including your death is part of that plan. So, from the point of view of someone who maintains this philosophy, 9/11 is only horrific and traumatic for those people who were associates of/related to the victims. For the victims themselves it was graduation day.

"That's unconcionably insensitive!" I hear you thinking. But it's not though... not really. From the life-planner's point of view everything is as it should be. And what's more, the life-planner is confused by your outrage. How could this news not bring you comfort? To have your friend/family member snatched away in a senseless tragedy is devastating. Surely being told it's "all okay" because "it's what they chose" and was therefore "part of the plan" should bring relief.

Did that make sense?

Kudos to Mac for expounding and explaining transhumanism. For those still in the dark on this one, here's the breif argument. People opposing transhumanism often warn of a horrific, borg like existence, one where humans lose their humanity in the face of mechanical "enhancement" to which all people must comply. On the other end, supporters speak of an unlocking of human potential, unbound by the frailties of the mortal coil, an endless, immortal existence in which we can live out all our greatest dreams and goals.

Personally, I think transhumanism will be like everything else in history: available only to the rich.

i actually went to the advertisers site and had a good read, its funny because just the other day i mentioned to my wife that we have the yard space to feed ourselves if the petrol just stopped flowing, but not the seeds required to do anything really useful with that space.
this ad caught my attention, and the site provided much "food for thought" so to speak

as always i enjoyed the show and ideas that got explored

Great, Great episode. I should know better than to listen at work because I don't get anything done.

I LOVE Hoagland. I'm always amazed at what he comes up with. He's hilarious. Its like the Weekly World News of pseudo Science. I'll never forget back in 98 or early 99 there was a shuttle launch and Hoagland said that because of some NASA ritual the countdown was gonna stop at 19.5 seconds.

It stopped at 19 seconds and my jaw hit the friggin floor.

I remember when he had his heart attack. He said he got hit with a beam weapon to stop his heart because he got to close to the truth. Hes actually the "Science adviser" To C2C now. So many people hang on his every word.

Anyways great show. I love the new WERE ALL GONNA DIE commercials.
