No, not what I mean at all. I hardly want to see a crappy door craftsman get punished over the robber that took advantage of the door.

But you might ask the 'crappy door craftsman' for your money back...

Grrr. Anyone know of a good step by step as to how to get rid of every single last bit of IE? It's still in my system. I used add remove programs, and deleted the folder via explorer. It's still installed apparently since I still get pop up windows in IE, as well as hijacked. I did a search on the net, and couldn't come up with anything that worked. I use Windows XP.

The simple answer is that you can't - Microsoft thought it would be a great idea to integrate IE with the operating system. They're inseparable. If you do manage to uninstall some of it, windows will probably start behaving in unusual ways, or stop working all together.

If use a browser other than IE, you're only option is to set the new browser as the default and leave IE alone.

Do you still love Microsoft? :D

And switch to a Mac and tell Microsoft to take a hike :)

I read about that before, but thought there was a way around it.

I like Microsoft more than DOS. I've never loved it or hated it. I'm somewhere in between. I don't know anything else to compare it with. I've only worked on DOS and windows.

I have Mozilla as my default browser I think. When I open it, it doesn't ask me if I want it as my default browser at least.

The choice between Windows and DOS is a choice between garbage and crap, and you can put that in whatever order you wish :)

In any case, your alternative is a Mac. Unless you are tethered to a Windows-only application of some sort, for which there's no Mac alternative, it's worth switching.

Our sites are all hosted on Linux.

I've written over 30 tech books, but not all were Mac-related. Too many to remember. :)

I'm re-trying Opera atm. It's ok so far. I read that they have ads in the top right, unless you pay around 40 bucks. I don't see any ads though. Guess it was BS, or they stopped doing it.

Opera stopped that a while back, but they do charge for support.

. . . or we could simply see what the free market has to say on the matter:

Microsoft Market Cap: 292.55 Billion

Apple Market Cap: 92.82 Billion (How much of that is iPod?)

The numbers don't lie . . . given a choice, consumers, corporations, and small businesses generally find Microsoft products superior. :)

Using the same logic, McDonalds offers superior food when compared to any other chain restaurant. And let's not compare a Ford to a BMW, because it would be embarrassing.

You see, market share doesn't always indicate superior quality. In the case of Microsoft and Apple, the former did some smart things when it came to selling products that often didn't exist -- or failed to completely fulfill the lavish promises made for them -- while Apple did some foolish things in which they squandered market share.

Let's look at something more indicative at what Wall Street thinks in 2007: Microsoft's stock price has languished for several years at around $30 or so, whereas Apple's stock, after a couple of splits in recent years, is now at $107 and climbing. These prices were recorded as of May 10, 2007.

No argument here. In the eyes of the restaurant food consuming public McDonald's is king. When people are shelling out money for food they often find the price/quality of McDonald's to be just what they're looking for. Other vendors are found lacking in either the price or quality category.

You see, market share doesn't always indicate superior quality.

Well . . . it can't. Superior quality is often a matter of personal opinion. It does, however, often indicate which product most people are willing to spend their hard earned money on. Whoever offers the product that best meets the needs of the public (at a price they're willing to pay) will generally capture the market.

Yep . . . iPod has certainly breathed life back in to Apple. Dumping Motorolla for Intel and making sure their new intel Power Macs can run Windows XP with slight tweaking didn't hurt either.

Even with all that working in their favor they're still light years behind Microsoft in the eyes of the buying public. How this can be if they truly offer a superior product is baffling to me. It would stand to reason that the public would buy Macs overwhelmingly if they found the price and quality superior to Windows machines.

Economics . . . the one force Apple fanatics can not explain away.

I just opened up my Itunes today for the first time. I was hoping to see different radio programs (non music) but didn't. There was just a store to buy music. I was like, huh!? I can download music for free if I wanted to:) I buy cds instead.

Does Itunes carry any free radio shows that deal with the paranormal, or does it just deal with music? I been looking for another paranormal show, since this one only has one show a week etc. Most cost money, or just suck.Or both.

Mcdonalds does well because, like Windows, they have a clown doing the sells. Nah, I actually know very little of Bill Gates, but figured the remark would get a few chuckles. I know a lot of people hate him. I'm not interested in the man and rather read other things, so I don't really have an opinion on him.

Most people buy what their friends have. Due to marketing and perhaps lack of awareness, people buy Windows. It seems people think just because I use Windows I'm some how a fan boy or in love with Gates. No, I don't know about any alternatives (only just learning) and got my current pooter for FREE. Had they given me a Mac, I would be using it..... I will say that over the years I have got the impression that game support for Macs (and availability of products) is way less than it is for Windows. This is a huge reason for gamers using Windows I bet.

iTunes offers Podcasts, movies and music. It's all pretty clear what's available.
