One Huge Pile of Shit

Free episodes:

I started out, asking myself, why? Why some of the speakers at an event of this nature would be there, but then I realized the old addage: "The answer, to 99 out of 100 questions is; MONEY."

This is a given. I would not begrudge that if they were giving something of value.

Another aspect is the ego thing. Some of the nastiest presences in this "field" aren't making any money to speak of, but are instead there for some kind of ego reinforcement. (One case I can think of in particular is pretty much the same as a schoolyard bully.) This is a subject matter where socially marginalized individuals can make a name for themselves.

The audience is to blame for this because they are either too gullible to figure it out, are profiting from it on some financial or emotional level, or are unwilling to speak up and do something about it.

It's a huge problem, and the only solution that sort or makes sense to me is to force the subject into the mainstream, which is only slightly less gullible.

Actually, I'm finding it difficult to articulate my reasoning. This is my third attempt...

In summary: I dread to think what it is that they would gain from open contact. I suspect it would be to their advantage, rather than ours.

Really? If UFOs had started landing 5 minutes ago and we'd had no previous knowledge of their existence, I think I'd probably share your anxieties. But given the evidence that they've been around for at least 50 years and haven't shown any desire to enslave us, it would seem unlikely that in the event of their overt revealment, it would be entailed by any exploitative behaviour. Ofcourse we can't be sure, but given the potential, enormous benefits, I'd certainly take the gamble :(

I'm going to go dunk my head in a 'Fry-o-Later' and see if it makes the hurt stop.

Hmmm. Seemingly intelligently controlled craft, able to materialize/de-materialize anywhere on the planet and easily able to outmanoeuvre anything we can throw at them - we better hope that they are benign...

...would it be a good thing if the 'extraordinary' become just 'ordinary'? If we became 'comfortable' with their overt presence and stopped paying them any attention, would that make us more or less vulnerable to a malevolent agenda?

Cattle are overtly aware of humans. They seem to have very little awareness of our intentions in respect of their individual futures. They'll voluntarily walk into the abattoir.

Okay, I know this sounds like 'V', but we just don't know what to expect if it ever happened.

On one of the many 'copies' of Earth, ETI's have landed many times - on some the of the 'Earths' they wiped us out and on others they allied with us. In an infinite Universe, all possibilities have happened, are happening, will happen.

(Just thinking out loud, rather than making any concrete assertions...)

Exopolitics defined as the study of Extraterrestrial presence on Earth and its sociological as well as, political implications for the planet is my main focus. I therefore need to distance myself from "conspiracy theory" and unsubstantiated claims which tend to marginalized and derail serious research in this field.-

Ah, so she is distancing herself from Dolan, then. Probably a mutually exclusive thing. Sounds like it's going to be a love fest.

Well there goes my remaining respect for Dolan, that's unfortunate.

On another unexpected note, that Chuck Zukowski guy looks exactly like my uncle Don
