Population reduction (Channel 4 News/UK)

Thanks for the article, Cotton.

But what good does it do Bechtel to position itself to make scads on water if the PTB are planning to kill us all? You can't say, "yep, they're out to kill us and then say, "yep, they're planning to rob us."

The whole global warming issue is another red herring (although I'll agree that climate change is happening, it always is) designed to tax the global populace in the way of carbon taxes. Can't pick a dead man's pockets for long without coming up empty handed. And whole populations of dead folks when commerce requires a healthy populace?

In fact, for corporations to thrive in the next 15-20 years, they're going to have to support population growth in order to make those profits simply because economics will slow to a crawl worldwide.

I read somewhere that the Russian government is actually encouraging population growth due to having lost many residents early to disease and their having just moved out of the country. Governments need us suckers as much as corporations for what we generate in $$$.

From this gentelman's own website:

"...recommends radical fertility policies to help achieve environmentally sustainable population size."

What is radical fertility policies?

Oh yes, education and stuff... Oh no wait, that's not it... been there, done that -didn't work. Wonder what "radical" stands for...? I'm sure you're right CapnG, there's nothing to worry about.

So what? You think this guy's the first person to say stuff like this? People say nutty things all the time, that doesn't mean they happen. For 40 years people talked of the "inevitability" of nuclear war between the USA and USSR. Never happened. The twisted fantasies of Ayn Rand's disciples are just that- fantasy.

As for these radical policies it depends entirely upon how one defines "radical". Many conservatives in America consider a public health care option "radical", here in Canada it's not only the norm it's considered a right.

Answer to this question you'll find in my post #33 and #34 (page 4)... no point repeating myself.

People say nutty things all the time, that doesn't mean they happen.
This dude is not alone, he represents an organization whose roots smell like Eugenics to me.

People say nutty things all the time I agree. There was that Austrian guy with funny moustaches once in Germany, he was saying and writing shitloads of nutty stuff too....only it all happened later on.

I think it has to do with the difference between the criminally greedy and the cold-blooded sociopaths that into population control as some of pseudo science/religion. The many vs. the few.

The people at Bechtel who did the disgusting acts in Boliva in 2000 were more into trying to rape a 3rd world country of every penny they had. It's a bunch of criminals trying to profit off of suffering. It's evil and heartless, but not in the manner of some of the far sicker people who look at human beings as a negative, rather then something they can profit off of at their own expense.

One interesting fact about Bechtel though is their former CEO. George P. Schultz, the father of the Neo-Conservatives. People like to talk about men like Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski a lot, but never mention this man. He was the one who caused the end of the Bretton-Woods system in 1971 that allowed the Federal Reserve to destroy it's own currency. He is the one who hand picked Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfeld. Nobody talks about him or reads his books (I guess except me ) though.

There are ruthless people and companies out there who will profit off the misery they cause on others. Then there are a few people who just hate human beings and are seriously mentally ill IMO. Often they work for the same people or similar agendas, the lines blur, but a different end to it in their intentions. Both types exist and are total failures as human beings.

100 Godwin points for you!

Eugenics and final solution was already mentioned... so nazi comparison was used on page 1 of this thread. You fail... not only on the use of Godwin but on the whole argument around the subject of this thread.
Your points will have to go down from 60 to 20, it's just not sustainable under the circumstances...

Cotton, your argument is good of course. There have always been greedy people in power who have ignored and even exploited the poor. Nothing new there. Been happening in America since its inception yet the population has soared, all the while pretty much ignoring the plight of the less fortunate in general. (Not just government and big business, we da people were in on it too.)

But you still aren't addressing the economics. You're focusing on the worst with no focus for the overall picture you present. Nearly every popular government conspiracy today leads to our death when one examines each bottom line. In the case of multinational conglomerates, they didn't get where they are by killing us. (They just robbed us and will continue to do so, I'm sure.)

If Austrian economists have it right, and I think they do, we're headed to waters uncharted in this country heretofore. We're in a deflationary spiral. The dollar is dying and with its death we're going to see not only an overhaul of everything we ever cherished, but also everything we ever despised. Banks and insurance companies are insolvent. Even if the dollar is kept from taking a last gasp, nothing about the world we live in is going to be the same.

I'll go as far as saying that the fattest cats, the ones who helped perpetrate the theft of wealth, are garnering dollars to a fare-the-well because they know what's coming and how much their wealth was and will be depleted. Hello, bailouts/bonuses.

We can scream long and hard at the culprits, but better we spend our time looking to what we can do to help each other out instead. Otherwise, we're just evangelizing end-of-the-world scenarios like the corner preacher who'd like to stick his hand in your pocket too. Wasted effort and time.

We need instead to devise our own memes, our own ideals and hold them dear because social mood will eventually rule the day and I'd just as soon that be positive and uplifting. That's the boat we'll be left with, working our way to prosperity of compassion rather than one based on emotions stirred from horrific loss. An embittered public are real slaves. If you believe you've been disempowered (new word?), you certainly will be.

It's 100 points because you KEEP mentioning it (10 points per hit plus bonus for melon munchin' Adolph gif).

Well, suppose i'll chime in.

Overburdening population is a critical issue - as you are probably aware the UK has a very universal benefit "free public services" account, on the other hand it has overdrawn this limit to a vast reserve to support "eliminate" the defaulted credited on the established banks cash flow spreadsheet.

Consequently, and without any doubt - tax, and hence cost of living in this country is about to increase dramatically (and that is without paying heed to the currency implications).

The problem for the UK is that during it's imperial wealth it has politically gave sanction for it's commonwealth associates, the problem here is that - for the commonwealth majority those that are successfull the majority of it's population will reserve itself to accomodate this new opportunity and remain in its own land, and for those that have failed, the UK, will be obliged to inherit. Consequently, we run an ever increasing population, with the population density probably the greatest in the world.

This is the see-saw, we pick up low unskilled workers from abroad who will displace the native majority from jobs that they do not want to do and in the future these jobs become jobs that the previous unskilled workers do not want to do - a sort of indentured slavery, and we arrive at the same conclusion - we need more immigrants/population increase.

Of course, any person with any reasonable education must say - surely there must be a limit to population density? the effects on infrastucture? the balance on sustainability? however, the left is surely in command in this country - and the layby, by fear of incrimination of his personal duty is silent. This will exagerate the right wing bubble - much like the events that unfolded in Germany in the 1930's.
