Ron Paul: What if ?

How Ron Paul can be ignored by the media is beyond me.
I just found this video on Youtube, the "Ron Paul: What If ?" This video is absolutely mind blowing !

I recently read that Bernanke has been reappointed to the Fed. What an absolute DISASTER. I've been reading reports in the press that he is being hailed as a saint.

He is a hero of mine. I look up to him because as someone who identifies more with a Libertarian/Constitutionalist view point he shows that someone from that view point makes a hell of a lot of sense.

He is as opposite as a Neo-Con could be, he exposes how absurd that party has gotten far more then anyone from the left could do. He also shows hope in what the party COULD be if people spoke up and stopped the insane support for warmongers and fradulant monetary policy.

I only wish he was younger so he could run for president again. Thankfully, his son Rand is running for Senate in 2010 to continue the ideas his father speaks about.

No politician is perfect and no set of ideas is the "truth" (unless you are totally closed-minded) by Dr. Paul makes the most sense to me out of any politician I have ever heard. His books are excellent as well.

The guy gives people hope just not in ideas, but that maybe, just maybe not every single politician (right/left/other) are lowlives who only care about themselves. A true statesman and a true hero in my eyes.

what if people actually paid attention to what he said and put it into practise?

I would have liked to have heard any responses to that from the floor. wonder how it went over...

I guarantee your comment is absurd.

Then you don't know enough about Ron Paul beyond the glowing hero stereotype you've glomped onto. To say Ron Paul is better than the average politician in Washington is to say a particular snake is less poisonous than the average copperhead.

Back up your claim or you are pandering.

Pandering... to whom?

Look it up. Paul is/was a member of the Bircher society, which is heavily slanted towards Ayn Rand's "philosophies". He may not be the worst of them but the fact he was associated with them at all should give you pause.

To the forums in general.

JBS? He is not a member. I don't treat them as you do though. Hell, I want out of the UN too. :p

He named his son Randal. He has said that he read Atlas Shrugged and though it was interesting book, though he did not agree with much of it. Said he has a total opposite view on the military then Ayn Rand. The name has nothing to do with Ayn Rand, which you smugly made a wrong assumption on while claiming what I "don't know" about the guy.

You made a bold claim that was wrong and repeated it wrong, again.

I wouldn't call it an assumption but rather a suspicion.

Even if you could convince me it was not the case I still wouldn't trust Ron Paul. He is, at best a man lost in a naiive daydream about what America is "supposed" to be and who will never accomplish anything. At worst, he's just another politician... politicking...

If you have anything negative to say, any claims against Dr Paul, please provide proof.

I live in London, UK. There is only one politician in the Uk with nerve, videos below.

It was very much by accident that I heard about Dr Paul. There was a 30 seconds clip on SKy News about him, it was more about the Ron Paul Blimp and the moneybomb for Dr Paul. I googled 'Ron Paul' and videos and my eyes opened.

I'm moving back to my home country, South Africa, after 9,5 years in the UK. Politics there is basically ruled by a populist party. Opposition parties barely make a drop in the ocean. Corruption is the order of the day. there is a constitution (I read it) which seem to be based on the US constitution. Although only 12 years old, politicians are ignoring it as a piece of paper. Laws are pased without consideration of constitution,.
Just like in most countries the general population has no idea of the existance of the constitution and bill of rights.
When I return my idea is to start a movement educating people about libertarian values, freedom of choice and constituntional awareness.

Ron Paul didn't name his son, Randal, after Ayn Rand. Can we just move past this? If all else fails I reserve the right to post Simpsons clips.

I cannot provide "proof" of my opinions because they're opinions, conclusions I have come to over the past couple of years of watching Ron Paul (and more importantly his disciples) and I don't happen to carry an itemized list of every interview and video I've seen or article I've read on the man. I flat out don't trust him on a too-good-to-be-true level.

I should also mention that I have zero trust for libertarians. As far as I'm concerned that philosophy is a thin film of self-motivation and freedom floating atop a vast ocean of pettiness, selfishness and greed.

While I am not at all a Bob Barr supporter ("former" CIA, suuuure) I stongly support the Libertarian party in principal. No party is perfect, but it's the closest to a concept I can deal with. Damn Cap, are you Debbie Downer?

Is that a put down or an actual person's name? I don't think I'm either but you never know... life is mysterious...

You seriously never heard of Debbie Downer? Funny SNL skit from a few years ago. But, I digress....

What is your issue with Libertarians? I don't understand your comment. What is wrong with smaller government? Their primary issue is that. I don't understand your comments.
