SCEPCOP - A new coalition countering Pseudoskeptics (JREF, CSICOP, etc)

Free episodes:

I don't believe in "ghosts" either. I do however, believe in the reality of my being and my soul. I have reasons for that just as a non believer has their own reasons. The thing that I find troubling in the paranormal is not the different ways of looking at life. It's the condesending attitude on all sides. The snappy little names such as creationsist, psuedo scientist, woo woo. These things deride the honest search and life expeirence of men and women who have an inner life. On the other side you have the ones calling all that don't agree names such as: Demonic, decieved, liar, and at times simply tuning out honest discussion.
The reason I call myself a "true" skeptic is just that. I have read Sheldrake and Pin Lomel and Penrose. But, I have also read some of Wiseman and Dawkins and I am old enough that I actually got a hold of the first printing of Randi's "Flim Flam." So, that is why I call myself a "true" skeptic. I honestly don't have a "hero" or a guru that I have to defend. I will never, ever be a reductionist. But, not becaue I've never read them or engaged with them. I have. So many people feel they have to defend a dogma. It may be Christianity or Islam or even athiesm. There is no need to "defend" the truth. There is also no way in hell, heaven or earth that we on this planet have the "truth." A theory of everything in an evolving spiritual/physical universe might not even be possible. I really don't know.

If you're happy in life and you're not hurting anyone, I really don't care what you believe. I like arguing about this stuff on line because it keeps me sharp, but "in real life" I don't really care.

To be fair, it's a different topic altogether. There's actual video of 9/11, there's very little of UFOs.

Ofcourse it was a different topic, hence the blatant hypocrisy of posters posting in one fora, their distrust of eye-witness testimony, whilst simultaneously posting the exact opposite in another fora.
Strange you feel the urge to lessen/defend it.

And how anyone can state theres very little film footage of UFOs, but there is with 911 is quite beyond me, i would wager my house theres a thousand hours of UFO footage for every hour of 911 footage.

And be sure to comprehend i use the tag UFO in a literal sense.

Please, show me this footage you speak of. Everything I've seen is just lights in the sky - nothing that can be called a structured craft.

Thanks.

"

Why have you brought structured craft into the conversation.
Although some of them will be.

Are you now going to invoke "alien entities" into the discussion.

Forgive me, I do try to stay out of stuff that isn't any of my buisness. But, are you just trying to start an argument for the sake of argument? Maybe, I'm missing something. Wouldn't be the first time. :p

No the case is you made 2 claims, i corrected you on both.

No arguing about it.

Dude, what claims are you talking about? That there are few videos of UFOs that are more than undefined lights in the sky? And that the popular idea that hauntings are the spirits of dead people? Again, you just showed up here and you look like you want to argue.
Chill out.

I have zero interest in all woo, UFOs however since having time to read the bluebook reports, i now have an interest in, not the farmer joes saw a flashing light type of cases, but definitely military and police officer reports.

To me a UFO is just that an unidentified flying object until it is identified, ive only taken part in one serious investigation, i spent 10s of hours on sts 75, for my own satisfaction.

Since you have been around here since noah parked his ark out the back, are there any discussions on sts80 please.
