Forget about Muse (sheesh) ... Mr Black Francis of Pixies fame used to write songs about UFOs and Mars, and ... ART BELL in the late 80s/early 90s before the Pixies broke up. Hearing a song about some bloke called Art who talked about all sorts of weird stuff late at night on the radio was the first time I had come across this sort of thing (we didn't have anything like this sort of radio programming in the UK at the time ... well not that I'd noticed anyway ... so i always was a bit jealous of you Yanks :P)

Anyway, if Mr Black Francis is still into this side of things, I think he would make a far better guest than some art-space-rock-god wannabe :D (you may now start the flame war) ... i mean ... he was taught by a Taoist monk (or something) how to scream, he's a bit portly and was the lead singer of the Pixies as well ... so ... what else could you want??

(Deeebasserrrrr ... DEEEBASSErrrrrr ...)

I'll refrain from a flame war since I enjoy The Pixies as well. Good suggestion, in fact any musician with a serious paranormal interest would be an interesting guest.

Also how about a show dealing with the Cash-Landrum incident? Perhaps either of the Landrums or the investigators that researched the case would be willing to discuss it. I think this is one of the most important CE-2 sightings that I am aware of, that is assuming it was not top secret aircraft in which case it is still compelling given the military's denial of any involvement during the related lawsuit.

The Cash-Landrum incident definitely gets my thumbs up. Sounds like some interesting synchronicities involved with that case too: The Bentwaters thing happening at about the same time, Betty Cash dying 18 years after the incident (very spooky). Plus all the government shenanigans around the case. Would be an utterly fascinating case to get deeper into on the programme.

(ps only kidding about the flame war ... and anyway, The Pixes would beat Muse in a fight hands down ... I mean ... would you want to cross Kim Deal??? :P)

Agreed... I think Muse has a combined fighting weight of only 300 pounds or so and that's the four member touring band. :D

I remember hearing about the Cash/Landrum case as a kid... maybe on the news or on That's Incredible. I don't remember exactly, but I would definitely like to hear an update or recap here.

That's a Muse album cover as your avatar right?

Two of the three in the car are dead. Both died from cancer I think. Some link it to the close encounter. Not sure about the youngest.

I rest my case re: the Pixies. And as the other 3 in the band are probably a little bit more portly than they were, they would win, hands down, and no mistake, guv. No question about it. (oh and Kim Deal could have Courtney Love any day of the week ... as well :D)

Yes, my avatar is a Muse album cover and no, those lads would not fare well in any celebrity deathmatch. :D

Well Colby Landrum would be in his mid-thirties now. Perhaps he and an investigator familiar with the case would be willing to come on.

Since the last two guest have been .... hmmm how to put it ... less than up to the usual standards :P. I have another suggestion that will continue this fine tradition of nut jobs.

I heard Dr. Joye Pugh on another paranormal show discussing her book Eden: The Knowledge of Good and Evil 666. She clearly is up there with Bushman and Goldberg, and her appearance on the Paracast would round up the number of crazies to an even three. Personally I am glad to see that a woman can be as crazy as a man can be. Another blow for equality - lol

Seriously, the only reason I might want to hear her on the show would be to hear David and Gene REALLY interview her, if you know what I mean.

Ha, that is exactly what I was going to post! I was going to tell you guys that if you feel the last few paracast episodes have been sub-par, please go listen to the latest episode of Black Vault radio. They interview Joy Pugh, and it will make you feel much better about this show.

She's basically a religious nut. Mr Greenwald is positively Noory-esque in the amount of baseless claims he lets her get away with. She bases one particular huge argument on the fact that "Cain was a son of Satan"!

Which of course he is. We all know that.

LOL -- true, If I had a dollar for every time she said 'my research shows' I could retire. By the end of the interview I felt like it was Boyd Bushman all over again.

For whatever my opinion is worth, and I suspect it's zero, I second wowsley's suggestion that Chuck Missler be invited as a guest on the program. While I strongly disagree with his central premise that UFO's are literally manifestations of demonic entities in the Christian biblical sense, he does offer some interesting observations.
His website can be found here:
Koinonia House - The Ministry of Chuck and Nancy Missler

You can also watch a video presentation of a relevant Missler lecture here:
I didn't embed the video because it's two hours long and has been posted in several parts.

Now for a few more annoying guest suggestions.
If Missler qualifies an an acceptable guest, Tom Horn may pass muster as well. While he shares Missler's opinions on the origins of UFO's, he adds a unique perspective of his own by including contemporary transgenic experimentation and the creation of human chimeras into the mix. He also claims to be in contact with a government informant that feeds him interesting tidbits of classified information, including a photo of a human female child being devoured by an alien. I'm not kidding.

Dr. Ken Johnston, former Manager of the Data and Photo Control Department at NASA’s Lunar Receiving Laboratory during NASA’s manned Apollo Lunar Program, claims he was abruptly terminated Tuesday morning, October 23rd, from JPL’s prestigious “Solar System Ambassador” (SSA) Program. NASA has confirmed his dismissal. Johnston alleges he was ordered to destroy Apollo mission photographs that prove the existence of aliens on the earth's moon.

If that is his premise, then he should certainly team up with Dr. Joye Pugh, who promotes the same thing in her book Eden: The Knowledge of Good and Evil 666.

Gene and David could interview them both in the same show -- an hour each, and then compare the ...... ummmmmmm ...... ummmmmm unsupported statements. Yeah that is it -- unsupported statements.

Another recommended guest for the show: Elaine Douglas (mufon journalist and researcher). I recently listened to an interview with her and she has a very skeptical view of the whole "space brothers" idea. She's definitely more in the camp of those who consider the ufo phenomenon to be negative, and I think an interview with her would make for some good ideas thrown back and forth.

Has anyone suggested Travis Walton as a guest ?

And more generally, it would be great to hear more 'experiencers' that have what seem to be credible stories

I would also really like to hear from Travis Walton.

So, "ufology" requires a different sort of skepticism in order for you to earn the status *true-skeptic*? That doesn't make any sense. You're basically saying that the scientific method of enquiry isn't suitable when studying ufo phenomenen. If you're using psuedo-scientific methods and make any conclusions, you could then be labelled a psuedo-skeptic.

No, you are way off the mark - I'm saying no such thing. What I am saying is that pseudo-skeptics like Shermer do not even apply the 'accepted' scientific methods to the UFO phenomena. The 'explanations' that they push require a bigger leap of faith than the ETH.

BTW, are you saying that the current scientific method of enquiry is perfectly capable of explaining all UFO phenomena? If so, how do you know that and why do cases in government files remain 'unexplained' if science already equips them with all the answers?

Until someone can sugest a valid control, most irrefutable scientific analysis methods are already out of reach.

Jerry Clarke? Rich Hall?

Richard Hall and I have a history, so this is rather doubtful.

Jerry Clark? Maybe the same answer, but we'll see.

Bad history with Hall? I got a bad impression of him from my brief time on UFOupdate mailing list. Everyone always praises the guy, but I'm not a fan.
