My two bob for what is worth is this.

Put yourself in the position of Mr Ferris. Or in the place of say his brother or daughter.
Your name is mentioned in a public forum e.g. podcast, internet forum and a popular one at that.

People then start to track you down. Particularly an elderly person, who most likely would like to live an ordinary life without complications.

Add to the mixture that people are tracking you down to talk about a UFO sighting - something most people would consider comes out "of left field".

By this time one would become anxious.

All in all it could have been handled better, but hey everything is easy in hindsight.

Hopefully multiple people haven't called him. David said all he had was an address. Other's have his number? Anyway, the guy could very well be relieved to speak about it. With DAVID, not people he doesn't know. That might very well cause alarm. "Hey, David B. said you were abducted and killed a grey on a radio show" I'm 12 and am a para-detective. The troof iz out dare!! (u know how things get distorted, especially around here).

Tell you what - why don't Gene and David get dressed up in black suits, wear dark sunglasses (maybe shave their hair off - if they have any) and approach this elderly member of the public and say "Excuse me Mr Ferris - we are hear to talk about an incident that occurred 40 years ago where you claim you saw an extra-terrestrial being and shot it".

Actually better not - don't want to cause a heart attack.

Someone has their strings too tight. Grow a pair.

This is a good thing, and a quite innocent one. Nobody knows anything accept his previous address and his and his wife's names. I don't even have his phone# or address.

Grow a pair? What the . . . ?

Is english your native language, cuz I'm not tracking your meaning. People have pointed out that tracking down and questioning a 93 year old stranger over something you heard on a podcast is kinda creepy. How does this observation lead to you telling them to "Grow a pair"?

I think everyone here could use a drink.... chill, kids. We're all sorta wacky, y'know...

Yeah, you're probably right.
To help cool down the thread a little, I offer:

Hmmmmm . . .?

What happened with this?

I'm writing a book about sightings of cigar-shaped craft. I may include a discussion of Mr. Biedny's sighting. The more witnesses to a single event the better.

You need to get my sightings straight - the cigar craft was in Caracas, Venezuela, the New Jersey encounter was something completely different. My brother was a witness to the cigar craft as well, not sure he'd talk to you about being in your book. If you're serious, I'll be happy to give you his email address, or pass your contact info along to him.

I mailed Mr. Ferris, no response. Somehow, I don't have much hope he'll get in touch with me, but we'll see...
