Here's the latest on our transition into the world of syndication.

The Paracast will be broadcast weekly, beginning Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM Central Time. It will be available via satellite feed from the GCN network, which syndicates to both terrestrial and satellite radio in the U.S.

Since there will be hourly breaks for local news and additional local commercials, we're expanding the show to three hours a week to accommodate the change and give you more in-depth interviews.

The Paracast will still available online as before, via live or on-demand streaming and via download from our site, iTunes and elsewhere. GCN also has an iPhone app, so you will be able to hear the live stream on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. This has been a huge request.

But we also need your help to get the word out. Please tell your friends to listen and if you know of a radio station in your city that might be interested in carrying The Paracast or our other show, The Tech Night Owl LIVE (or both!), please let me know right away and I'll have GCN's Affiliate Relations person contact them with the details.

I want to thank everyone for making The Paracast what it is today — but as the song says, we've only just begun. :)

I will spread the woid here in T-Town. How about the local newspaper forum? I will ask if there are any Coast type fans and then hit em with a better show. Congrats! 8)

That's a great idea, but we also need to reach the stations to convince them to carry the broadcast. :)

Congratulations to Gene and the rest of the Paracast crew! This is very very cool!

GCN is only about an hour from my house and is the same network Alex Jones is on.

GCN helped AJ garner a larger audience than beck and limbaugh. The Paracast should do quite well despite the fact that you may have lost your bloodthirsty thug and loon audience. :D

There are always new bloodthirsty thugs and loons to replace older bloodthirsty thugs and loons. :D

Will there be any uk radio stations picking up the show???
That would be great, but if not i will continue downloading the podcast every Monday morning.

For those who asked about whether the show will be available to radio stations outside of the U.S., the Affiliate people at GCN sent me the following response:

The stations may not be able to grab the satellite feed because we feed through ABC/Citadel and I don't think they have anything going on in foreign markets but any station wanting to take the show can surely take a download from our website or even use a direct link to stream it live off our website.

So, yes, it's possible to spread the joy. :)

Or you can download the show from our site or use iTunes, as before.

This is great news. Who do I have to call here in Chicago to get you on the air. I'd hate to see you on one of the right-wing hate stations, but if that's all there is, I'll call them and demand you.

I'd rather see you on the FM band, which is mainly free from wingnut opinions.

Most talk stations are right wing. Do the best you can and send me the contact info if you stir some interest. We'll take it from there.

Good luck. :)

I am a bit shocked and pleasently suprised that it will be on GCN. That is more of a poltical news station. I am not totally sure, but your time slot might be on directly after the Sunday Alex Jones show. If that is the case, I don't know how the heck you pulled that off! Now I know you may not like him (I know Paul sure doesn't lol), but he has a HUGE audience that you get a chance to carry over from his show. Politics aside, this is a HUGE opportunity to be on a massive alternative media network like GCN after the show of their most listened to host. Serious kudos for this.

BTW, fully expect to get more poltical and conspiracy threads from the demographics of new listeners. ;)

That should give you a good idea. :)

He is quite bombastic, but I listen to his show a few times a week when he has guests on I like, such as Ron Paul. He gets some excellent guests. About the only thing you would have in common with him though is his views on FOX NEWS and Neo-Cons. :)

Congratulations!!!!!

Just curious if you would start taking calls from listeners, or would it not be going out live at any point?

Best of luck to you, Gene!

Thank you.

It is possible to take phone calls but I'd need some extra gear from the network. We'd also have to do the show live with the usual seven second delay to avoid unsavory language.

But we will eventually move in that direction. Not immediately though.
