Nothin' to see here
Has anyone else read that book?

Anyway, cool episode. So just how 'disturbed' was Rich Dolan after the movie? I hope he still wants to do the Paracast.

But more importantly, Jeremy I have the popcorn ready for the Truthvolution screening here at the Paracast Drive-in Theatre!

edit - In case some people dont know, there is a book called "Think and Grow Rich". Its a classic by self help guru Napolean Hill (in the 50s I think) and discusses the whole "you attract what you think about" phenomenon. There are literal stories contained within that detail actual stories of rags to riches. Anyway I just found myself chuckling when Jeremy was talking how white people take these indigenous ideas and fuck things up.

I have the audio book. I got it out of curiosity after seeing it referenced in some of Neale Donald Walshe's Conversations With God books.

PS. I'm still poor.

Jesus, I'm listening to this stinkbomb of an episode - sorry Jeremy, nothing to do with you, as you know - and I have to say, Beckley is just a total dipshit, a sleazy nothing. Gene, why the fuck is he associated with the Paracast? Please remind me & our audience, what value does he offer the conversation or our show? I'm all for voting him off the island. He's a waste of space. In fact, I think we should let our audience decide, so I've created a poll for this purpose. Vote early, vote often.

I will abide by whatever decision you listeners reach. I've known Beckley for many years, but I'm not here to fight the masses. Choose wisely — and don't let Acorn change your registration. :D

I hope it's ok I voted. I've heard Tim on the other times he's been on, but not the latest. I think there are better people to have on instead.

Whoops. I got Tim momentarily confused with Moseley, the Saucer Smear guy. I took my vote back and I'll vote after I listen to the recent episode in which he's on.

Funny you mention Napoleon Hill. The only thing I know about him is that his writings were a huge influence on the creation of a legendary Washington, DC band called the Bad Brains. The lead singer (HR) started the band and created the vibe partly based on Napolean's writing which focused on positive thinking etc....

The Bad Brains are massively influential. Basically the first Hardcore punk band and also the first to combine Reggae and punk/hardrock and were probably the first African American punk/hard rock band and their music was all about being positive. They should have been a huge mainstream band, but had some bad luck and the singer is super nutty (they were signed to Madonna record label 'Maverick' at one point)

Without Bad Brains there is no Minor Threat, Henry Rollins, Fugazi, and tons of other imitators - 311, Living Colour, etc.....

They were known as being the first 'real' musicians who played punk, the guitarist and bassist were jazz fusion musicians so Bad Brains were a massive contrast in their tightness in comparison to 'punk' bands that were sloppy white dudes who weren't really that talented.

Here are 2 videos from them, keep in mind the time these videos were made and you'll get an idea of how ahead of their time they were:

FYI - their best album is called "Eye Against Eye" it is in my top 10 of album best albums. Funky catchy hard rock/metal/punk.

Now about the show,

David's presentation sounds like it was.................... awesome!

Reminds me of that scene in Dogtown and Z Boys where Jay Adams steps into a traditional skateboarding contest and totally turns the culture on it's head and takes skateboarding out of the realm of 1960's pop culture into something more dangerous and true.

David if by some chance you do the same presenation at the X Conference (if you plan on attending anyway, might as well speak!) I will be there for sure.

The Lesbian Vampire book, sounds pretty funny, reminds of something you'd watch on USA 'Up All Night' when I was a kid up at 2 am watching cable praying that they would just please just show one tit!

Jeremy I give you a lot of credit and it sucks not more people came out, but I think you probably learned a lot and may have gotten some ideas that would help if you do it again.

Doing local promotion was very smart IMO. There is always more you can do, but it's tough trying to identify what will be effective. In some way, I think, the best audience are UFO experiencers, but where the hell does one go to promote to that group? NYC or Jersey abduction support groups?

Lastly, interesting to hear Dolan is kind of riding the fence, I kind of knew that because I've listened to his wife's show on the paranormal network and she is a lot more of a new ager fluffy duffy then he seems to be.

Maybe the dynamic is like James Carvelle and his wife :)

Ok, that explains why I had no clue.

Acorn- the liberal group that has been in many recent news items pertaining to voter registration fraud. The McCain party has tried to ride this horse as much as possible, but not much seems to have stuck in terms of Obama's apparently deep affiliation with them. This seems to remind me of one of Stantons laws. "If you can't attack the data, attack the person, nobody will know the difference" (something like that)

Google it and you'll see all sorts of crap about this group ACORN. Thank freakin God the election is tomorrow. I, for on, am quite tired of the constant dripping slime we call politics.

ACORN has nothing to do with the election. It's just another smokescreen to detract from real issues.

They do relate to the election insofar as their voting registration efforts are concerned.

But demonizing this organization is something else again.

Ah. Liberals being blamed this time... I don't trust the voting system, that's one of the reasons I don't vote. At least I think some shady things might have happened with the Bush election/s.

I don't follow the political circus much. Same ol same ol. Glad Bush and Dick are going to be gone though.

The Obama campaign did contract with ACORN to conduct voter registration during the Democratic primary, but has stayed away from them during the actual campaign.

The problem, IMO, was how the far-right took this and ran with it in directions that beggar belief!

"In October 2008, Republican presidential candidate John McCain's campaign released a web-based ad suggesting ACORN was partly responsible for the 2008 economic crisis. ACORN pushed back on this accusation via its website, calling the spot "a smear ad".[49] On October 13, ACORN released a picture of McCain attending an ACORN immigration forum to The Politico.[50]"
