Yeah I like 'Authority' too. Expert implies you know everything about everything on a particular subject.

Authority suggests you know a great deal, and definitely have much more knowledge than the average person. It doesnt sound as arrogant.

i like the the term Enthusiast.

as for his nose scratching alien, who knows maybe we are all , each and every one of us just a Tamagotchi character in a grander game.

pondering further, its interesting to note the response to the scenario: that is asking for a sign and then getting one, i mean that cant happen can it ?

and yet thats an aspect of my own experience that i myself use to invalidate it.

the night i recall as waking up with a tall grey in my room is the same night i stood on the balcony and with earnest honesty asked for a sign..... just as Mr Good describes doing.
and like him i got what seemed like an instant response, which only added to the sense of disbelief at the result.

surely it cant be that simple

logic says this equation is more likely to yeild a result of self delusion, wishful thinking we call it.

all i can say is try it, ask like Mr Good did, with all sincerity, use Ritual if you like wave a torch at the sky or sit and focus on a new age crystal, ask with all seriousness.......

you never know, if thats the question you want answered, ask it.

if you dont ask.......

I don't believe he ever makes stuff up so at least he has that going for him.
And he doesn't make outrageous claims about the aliens and who or what they are or spend all his time bashing people; he tends to report things as is.
So I say he's in the top 10% of UFOlogists not the top 5% though.

I think Timothy good is absolutely bonkers. I was absolutely speechless when i heard him on the paracast talking about sitting in a hotel lobby projecting his thoughts to try and get an ET to contact him.
In fact it put me off the subject for a while because i didnt want to end up losing my marbles completely like him. I cant believe he was even taken seriously in that episode.

I sort of agree with you there Hoff,

I tend to think that rather than being a little bonkers. (His reaction to both the young girl in the restaurant and the guy in the lobby for instance). Both seem rather vague and subjective. Sound more like projections of whatever he imagined those events were all about.

For instance, the girl turns, curtseys then leaves abruptly.

Let's just assume for a moment she just happens to be a regular gal, and whilst standing in a queue cant help but notice that the people behind her are speaking
(very noticably to her) English in a very bbc kind of accent, shall we say.
As he said he was on tour over there. and doing that kind of gig I think it's safe to assume his fellow musicians would speak in a similar way and in that situation they would be noticable and perhaps a bit of a novelty.

Anyway, once she picks up her order, she then in a fit of youthful cheekyness, (and now knowing these folks are quite posh English types) curtseys and rushes out perhaps from embarrasment, who knows.

Then the guy in the lobby. Just happens to rub his nose at the exact moment Mr Good wants him to. Sorry dont buy that one either. Coincidences happen all the time and it's to easy to make any experience fit ones own inner dialogue/perspective moment to moment.

Black marks also for his comments on Adamski and Eduard oh Fuck Off Meier.
Maybe it was just me, but I thought David was making an extra effort to keep calm at that point. Overall though I enjoyed this show and would like to hear more from him.
I dont think Mr Good is a Bad guy. Just a bit liable to jump to conclusions sometimes.

Just like me,

Mark
