I don't have "several accounts" and I am not engaged in regular spamming or trolling. I hardly ever visit this forum. I think that in the past couple of years or so, I have posted maybe 5 or 6 messages.

I have Chuckleberryfinn. Then I made KeyMaster because I was trying to entertain you all by spinning something that was clearly fictional, intended to be taken as a joke. When Decker baned Keymaster, I made the name "whyohwhy," but only so that I could use it to plead with him to unban the KeyMaster, not to post anything on the message board with. The KeyMaster presented the opportunity for some wild ass satire and fun. I was going to point fun at Whitley Strieber's "Master of the Key," in addition to weaving in some other bits from UFO mythology, and just post some completely nutty, wacked out stuff about the end of the world, how monsters were coming for us all, etc.

Truthfully, I just wanted to practice my creative writing and make some people laugh. I absolutely was not trying to start a cult, make people believe me, or any of that.

Bam - everyone starts asking if I am telling the truth, what evidence have I got, yada yada yada. And I am a troll and a criminal here?

Lighten up. Learn to read between the lines. Ban Chuck Finn, sure. It wont matter. I think maybe I'll try having fun on some other forum. Goodbye, folks.

What may have been satire to you came across as something else here. Maybe if you gave us a heads up we'd work with you. I have no problems with funny -- when it's really funny.

Thanks for clearing that up Chuck,
I like a good laugh myself, laugh till ya leak is one of my motto's.

Humour can be a funny thing (pun intended)

To give an example one year on world Aids day (when people wear red ribbons) a co-worker recently arrived to australia from India, asked me why are all these people wearing the red ribbons, I replied its world aids day. He didnt understand, so i explained the detail.
I said the govt passed a law so that on aids day, everyone who has aids has to wear a red ribbon so the rest of us know who has it.......... He totally bought the gag

The look on his face as he looked around the office in horror was kinda funny.

But another coworker who was behind a partition jumped out, and he was livid.

I guess in a forum about UFO's where people take the subject seriously enough to take the time to purchase and read books on the subject , listen to and create podcasts on the subject, a post like that would be akin to me signing up at a large christian forum, and posting i was the second coming of christ, it can only end badly......

What's more, how are you so sure that many of the post's by others in the forum weren't themselves satirical ? You don't have the market cornered on cleverness. This forum had some VERY sharp members here. A lot of my stuff is satirical in nature. just because I don't put a smiley emoticon on every post I respond to in a joking way doesn't mean I'm being serious. You have to interact more with people before you can determine their intent.

b.t.w i find your writing somewhat dry and pedestrian

oh and lest i forget that last comment merited a ;)

Not sure how to respond to that. I never claimed that other posts in the forum weren't satirical, nor did I state that I have the market cornered on being clever. I know that the forum has sharp members. I used to post here a lot. So far as smiley faces and emoticons are concerned, I am not sure where that came from. I hate emoticons. Not sure what gave y

I like the paracast. Thanks for putting on a good show.

I agree that my writing is dry and pedestrian. That's why I was trying to practice it.

And, the last thing I will say here, before signing off for good, is that I absolutely was not trolling. This person is, by definition, trolling, because he is trying to incite an emotional, defensive response that will lead to a flame war. He is literally baiting me for an emotional reaction.

The law of cause and effect comes into play here though Chuck, you had to know having been a long time reader that the OP would attract the very response you got from Don and the other readers here.
It was the OP that was the bait here, and you had to have known that, what followed is a predictable response.
The Original Post is the "Origin" of the problem, the OP was a trolling post, Cmon you know it was, and the replys only confirm this.
It got the response you knew full well it would, it was designed to do so, and it worked.

I dont think you should leave because a joke backfired, but thats up to you and the hosts.
But in hindsight you must conceed the joke was likely to insult those who take the subject seriously, because you presented it as "The truth" the kneejerk reaction to that format is entirely predictable and appropriate.

You had to know the data presented, in the format it was presented was going to go down like a lead balloon here, which it did
