What are the all time best podcasts to listen to?

Hello folks,
I am new to listening to the paracast, in fact I am new to listening to podcasts altogether. Very addictive to say the least. I really enjoy the program. I especially like the way Gene and Christopher are objective and allow the presenter to state their case on their own. My question is which podcasts should I go back and download? Any controversial episodes? The only critisism I have is the insane amount of adverts that take almost 3 - 4 mins??? I understand that you have to have adverts in order to pay the bills, granted...however 3 - 4 mins?? I appreciate any assistance.

The number of ads we run is no different from any other networked radio show in the U.S. If you live in another country, it may be jarring. You can always fast forward through the ones you don't like. As with most shows, we aren't paid for network ads, just our own (the first minute of every break).

As to older shows, well, with over 250, there are loads and loads of choices, but you might look through our forums about shows that receive lots of response, pro and con. That's a sure indicator of controversy.

Ads are part of any free to air show, at least as Gene says you can fast forward through these ones, unlike free to air TV where you have to sit through them in real time

Hi Gene, I appreciate the response. The only problem I have, which is only my problem, is that when you are running or cycling and listening to a podcast..you can't fast forward ;) lol. :o

I really should take the time to listen when I'm sitting down on a couch!:my:

Thanks again.

it depends on what you're most interested in (ufos, haunted phenomena...). In the archives there is a brief note on the subject which will be discussed in the show, so you can choose the ones that interest you most.

Check the early Jeff Ritzmann episodes which are classics, also Jacques Vallee, and David Biednys experiences. So many good ones you can start at the very beginning and work your way through it'll get you completely hooked.

Mr Don Ecker's guest apperances:cool:, the late Dr Mac Tonies (agree with Angelo) , :)

Col Alexsander , Lt Col (Rtd) Dr Randle on Roswell are some of the best shows on Paracast. :)

Also Gene, Chris, Paul & Greg Sci-fi epsiode which I am looking forward to the next one:)

I am sick of the "two" or "he who shall not be named" or whatever the reference is to Meier or Horn is. Such a childish and bullshit game . FFS just call them by their real names and get off this schoolyard, petty crap.

I'm not. :)

Such a childish and bullshit game.
True dat. But so what. Lighten up Mr. Serious Pants.

It makes people who are unfamiliar curious. Curiosity leads to questions. Questions lead to answers. Answers lead to enlightenment. Enlightenment leads to....profit.

Edit :

To add some content. In addition to the Paracast episodes, there are many really great Dark Matters episodes you should listen to.

Go here : http://www.dqrm.com/showlist/dmr2.htm

Some particularly noteworthy ones :

Dr. Michiokaku : http://www.dqrm.com/shows/DMR/2011/wk10/dmr-15-w.mp3
Bob Lazar : http://www.dqrm.com/shows/DMR/2011/wk10/dmr-13-t.mp3
Another Bob Lazar episode : http://www.dqrm.com/shows/DMR/wk40/dmr-50-w.mp3
John Lear : http://www.spiritj.com/shows/DMR/wk30/dmr-30-t.mp3
Bill Moore : http://www.dqrm.com/shows/DMR/2011/wk10/dmr-15-f.mp3
Bill Cooper : http://www.spiritj.com/shows/DMR/wk20/dmr-21-th.mp3

Theres tons more as well. Have a look around. Lots of historical episodes, plenty of controversy and a good deal of just plain interesting topics are discussed. Practically every big name in ufology is either discussed at length or interviewed directly. Don Ecker is not shy and bluntly states his opinions. He is a very entertaining host.

I think it's all in good fun.
It's bullshit.
I'm not. True dat. But so what. Lighten up Mr. Serious Pants.
No worries he who shall be named as stuffed tigger, whatever flicks your childhood switch.

It adds confusion to those who are curious. It questions their curiosity in an already confusing and muddled field. And muddled leads to stphrz. Stphrz leads to .........being stuffed?:)

That's stuffed tiger. Y'know, Calvin and Hobbes not Winnie The Pooh. Get it right.

I think you did this one wrong too. Nice try though. Cheers. :)

He he, of course it is. At least i was right about you being stuffed!:)
You just proved my point about it being a childish game. Not only do you agree with the Meier/Horn mysterious bullshit but you find yourself involved in a tete a' tete about cartoons. Typical.

It's probably the most meaningful statement i've seen you make, excellent! My day just got better.:)

What the hell Phil?. What the hell? You got old man. Only a crusty old fart would diss Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin and Hobbes is awesome, brilliant and insightful. The strip's integrity, wit and wisdom is unmatched. You are one big fuddy duddy. Yeah, I'm stuffed all right. Better than an cynical empty bitter husk. :)

I didn't make that statement. It's a Calvin and Hobbes quote.

Here's another:

“Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?”

Yeah, I'm looking at you. :)
