What was your first computer?

Free episodes:

Given the large number of European Paracast fans we have in the forums, I'm surprised more people haven't claimed a Spectrum as their first computer.

The Amiga was a fantastic machine, far ahead of its time. Of course Workbench was somewhat clunky, but still far superior in ease of use to MSDOS.
Cloanto sells an outstanding emulator for Windows based pc's. I have the program, and it works a treat. Almost all the great software from back in the day is available as public domain downloads. Free is good.
You can get Cloanto's Amiga Forever here:

Amiga Forever - Home of Amiga Emulation, Games, History and Support Since 1997

There are a number of free Amiga emulators, but they can be hard to use efficiently for those who aren't experienced in the black art of emulation.

I guess MSX was not that popular in the states, but it was kind of huge here in Europe an Japan.

I eventually expanded the RAM to 64KB for some inordinate amount of money :)
The Z80 CPU was great fun to program and the sound was excellent! (back then). The graphics kind of sucked, but was much better in later MSX models.

Oh and the ROM Basic was Microsoft's, aaaargh! :D

TRS-80 Model I... bought it back in 1979 and still have it !

4k RAM upgraded to 16k woo hoo !!! load up the programs via cassette deck !!! cost me hefty 1200 $
