A lot of people remember this (including me); sometime in the 80's they promoted a 3D version of Creature From The Black Lagoon on network television. You had to go to 7-11 to obtain your 3D glasses. I remember sitting on our couch watching it as a kid. Somehow 7-11 was tied into the promotion so that's why you had to go there to get the glasses.I think "Creature from the Black Lagoon" was/is one of the best monster designs out there. For it's time it looked so real, still looks good today. Can't say that about many 50's effects.
How could we have gotten this far without giving a nod to the king of all monsters?
Perry Mason: "Well it's big and terrible"
IMO, This Island Earth should be part of the cornerstones as well.OK, the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Forbidden Planet" are cornerstones of Sci-Fi, as far as I am concerned. I love them both and will defend their place in Sci-Fi history to the death.
Yes. A fairly decent film.IMO, This Island Earth should be part of the cornerstones as well.
I never saw itRemember, the song from The Blob?
The Blob theme was written by Burt Bacharach and Mack David.I never saw it
I liked Landau. I also liked to muse sometimes about what would happen if the Galactica encountered our rouge Moon ( Space 1999 ).Martin Landau won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal as Bela Lugosi. But he sounded too "Jewish" to effectively imitate Lugosi, whose deep accent was world famous.
