Your Favourite Car?

Free episodes:

I always wanted one of these, even though it's completely impractical.

Instead I drive one of these:

My favorite car and what I did to it. It is a 1972 Volvo 1800 ES. It got me back by breaking my neck (C2) and cutting off my right ear. I sold to a guy in Canada and it has been fully restored.

Jesus! That Ferrari is pure car pornography!

I've had the pleasure of sitting in a Lamborghini Countach, Rolls Royce Phantom II and III, Silver Wraith and the Bentley equivalents from the 30s and 40s. Also a '66 Jaguar E-Type and 40s XK120(?), AC Ace (wish it'd been a Cobra!), Ford GT40 (I was about 10) and a string of the MG T-series.

Right now, my favourite car is that Ferrari up there and the Koeninsegg. Top Gear (TV Show) has the guys rallying the crap out of these kind of cars on beaches, autobahns and race tracks. One of the sexiest women I've ever met could talk about the engine specs of great cars and had been around the Nurburgring in a Mini Cooper. The forum doesn't need to know that detail, but when I think of fast cars she just pops in my mind every time. :D

You'll never believe me but I saw one of those, in white, on the road yesterday. I followed it for about 15 miles, from Gaithersburg MD to Great Falls, VA. I didn't know which model it was until now. I remembered the 3 exhaust tips and was gonna look it up online. Amazingly beautiful vehicle.

I owned a 1978 Datsun 280Z and a 1976 MGB. I enjoyed them both but the Datsun was definitely the better car. Fewer parts fell off it at any rate. There should be some limit to the horsepower to weight ratio for stupid young people though. I never got the MGB to go fast enough to scare me much but the Z would do things that would really pucker you up in a heartbeat. I miss the thing.

I'll never have one (I think that there's one left, probably the only one made as a demo) but this is my all-time favorite:

The 1938 Phantom Corsair.

Is this disinfo?! Damn your relentless obfuscating and deflection!

It looks cool as hell but probably sounds like a bag of spanners in a washing machine and gets just as wet in rainy weather. :D

I WANT IWANT IWANT a little teeny cute **Smart Car**. You can't believe how little they are. They remind me of that little robot critter who ran into Chewbacca on the Death Star, and spun around and went the other way. But real fast, though!

Hmm, my favorite car ...

Well, I got out of the Army in 1972 and after I got home my dad gave me his Plymouth to use for awhile. One of my best buddies, Bob R. had recently gotten out of the Marines and bought a Porsche 914 (a red one-very sharp) and I was impressed. Anyway, I had this hot date one weekend around Christmas and told Bob I did not want to use that damned lame Plymouth and could I borrow his Porsche? Well the upshot was he loaned it to me. Hmm, very nice weekend ... but I digress. So anyway I get back Sunday night and I said ... "Jesus! I got to get me one of those!!"

Monday I went car shopping at a Porsche dealership ... and bought this ....

And needless to say ... I was in love ... until 4 highschool chicks ran a Stop Sign and I T-boned them. End of Porsche.

I have three favorite vehicles categorized by three driving disciplines:

1. Muscle: There are those times when I'm in the mood to get on the highway and eat anything in my path. It's then when I turn to a 1969 Dodge RT Charger with the 454 4 barrel stock. Yes, the General Lee would be a good example, although my personal version would be an ominous jet black.

2. Sport: When I'm thinking speedway or perhaps the German Autobahn, I'm looking at a Ferrari 308 GTS. The old school horse like the one you used to see on Magnum P.I.

3. Personal Show and Other....
Ok, here I have to defer to a Model I completed some time back for what I consider one of the baddest ass cars ever created:

Yes, a 1957 Chevy Stocked...and this one, Jet Black as well. This custom has one of the largest Chevy engines in her and is completely chromed out.

Any one of the three above would do fine by me, but the Chevy is something personally very special.

It has to be some kind of Formula One,Indy car, I got hooked after having the chance to spend most of the 1981 Le Mans in the pits with a phony press pass and a big camera.Raw power.

My buddy had that exact car in high school but the brakes went out on a notorious curvy downhill next to a canyon and had to bail.I'm glad I wasn't with him that day.

1955 Volkswagen Beetle.

It's what I learned to drive with. And every car after it has felt like a limo.

I'm not kidding when I say that that is just beautiful. I loved driving my fathers one to inspections every 4 years, he never parted with his first one.
