My parents bought the Beetle new in Germany, drove it around Europe, shipped it to the U.S. east coast, drove it across the country, after that shipping it to Hawaii where they were living at the time (and where I was born). A few years later we all went to the Seattle area where my parents still live. They kept the car until the mid 1980s, finally selling it to a collector. It went through several engines and more than its share of accidents (my brothers and sister learned to drive with it too!).

Had a similar saga with a 1969 VW microbus, which my parents also bought new and kept until about 2000. It was the family summer travel and all-around utility car. The last time I drove it the steering was so loose I was scared to drive it anymore, but my dad used it around town for years after that.
 
I wonder if someone in this forum might be able to post all the 007 J Bond cars in chronological order and the co-stars:)
