You're being a bit extreme with your examples. Anything can be used as a weapon, if the will is there. Guns just make it easier for people to kill, because that's what they're for. All civilised countries are getting rid of their guns because there is no need for civilised civilians to carry them.

As far as I know it's illegal to carry a knife on the streets, why would you need a knife?

I'm genuinely interested in your thinking here, surely guns and knives off the streets is a great idea? If you can explain to me why that's not the case, in a rational way I'll be delighted and surprised.
 
As for Jones being a phony, I don't know about that, I can't listen to people filled with that much rage and hatred, it's disgusting. He's certainly a lot of things, mainly an advert for the US to sort out their mental health system. More funding for that is required methinks. He's a scary guy and seems to have influence over certain folk, that's a worry.

Yes indeed guns are for killing AND recreation. What was used to kill the gunman? a gun. What would have stopped the gunman before he killed more than one person? a gun.
Taking guns and knives away from the law abiding people will leave the bad guys with guns and knives. Here in Minnesota you can carry a knife, I have carried one since I was 8. You can also carry a hand gun in public if you have a permit.
History is full of examples of what happens when civilized countries demand that you give up your guns. Usually lots of people die.
 
Give me 3 examples of that happening in recent times. I don't think it has to be honest.

I come from quite a rough area, never felt the need to carry a weapon. I trust my government to look after me, and they do. Just like yours would if they 'took away your guns'.

One thing is guaranteed, more innocent wee children will be murdered by kids stealing daddy's gun and going on a rampage. It happens all the time in the US, it's horrific. It doesn't happen anywhere else. When it does, other countries change the law immediately, and it doesn't happen again.

Too much fear in America, what are you afraid of?

And it's not true to say the bad guys would end up with the guns if you took them away from good people. All countries that have done so have been successful. Give me an example of a country where gun control is imposed and it's all of a sudden overrun with bad guys with guns. It simply doesn't work like that.

Where do you live?
More innocent children have been killed by drone attacks by our protective government last year than in school shootings. If a teacher had a firearm those children may not have died. Having "Gun Free Zone" signs is like saying come here and kill children because no one will stop you.

By the time you let "police deal with the nonsense" innocent people are already dead.
I don't need a tank or a rocket launcher, if you want one of those then you should train to own one responsibly and get one.
Look up the history of gun confiscation and what happens. I am not doing your research for you.
 
Making guns illegal won't stop the bad guys from having guns. That's no reason to take mine. It does suck that having more guns around means more accidental deaths involving guns though, I can't argue that. Outlawing guns hasn't exactly made British society any safer than the US, with the UK having a higher violent crime rate anyway.
 
170 million people killed by governments who took weapons away might disagree with you. Start your search with American Indians then Armenians etc etc etc etc.

Armenian Genocide - The total number of people killed as a result has been estimated at between 1 and 1.5 million.

That's a crazy and shocking number for some reason. Even crazier that they estimate the Holocaust at possibly being a little more than 10 million. Everyone always thinks it's the end of the world, but things have been much much worse at times in all-to-recent history when compared to how it is now.
 
Innocents Betrayed is a pretty good documentary that will help educate ignorant people such as Darth Arab.

That's because we don't have guns! I'd rather have the crap kicked out of me than get shot. I've survived batterings, I don't think I'd survive a bullet in the face.

Anyway, it's my first day posting on this forum, I don't want any trouble :)
 
pixelsmith, you've got me sussed after a few posts, I'm ignorant and will dismiss any evidence as bullshit, thank you. I live in a country where they 'took away our guns', it's fantastic.
 
If you can survive me you will do just fine here. I suggest viewing the documentary... and get yourself a pocket knife...
