Get outta town... 150 shows already!? Where does the time go? Well, a hearty congratulations are in order then.

And cake! Moist, delicious, chocolate cake...

I dont see why everyone gets so excited about those other country's release of UFO reports. Sure you might get some fascinating reports from time to time, and this may even make its way into the news cycle, but we all know that they arent really admitting to, or acknowledging, anything.

These are reports from the general public that have no bearing on an official interest. And on top of that its extremely probably that some of the most interesting reports are not even being released.

So even if the States did start releasing public reports from the last 30yrs, I dont think that would amount to much of anything at all.

What is surprising is that they don't even release those. ?! Acting like that kind of reinforces the belief in coverups and contradicts the openeness pledge of Obama ;)

Once the slip starts showing then you can start pulling for more :D

Pfft. I aint happy til they do their 666 and 2012 show.

Actually, I haven't kept track. Quality over quantity. I'm sure Fart Hell counts his shows. With little regard to quality. Springer lasted for seasons, meanwhile the Ben Stiller show didn't.

Ok, Gareth: You take the first half of the show and I'll take the 2nd half, we'll meet together via PM and compare notes......

Great show, just finished listening.

You know, I play in a band occasionally and the bass player happens to be a commercial pilot. When I first started playing in this band I asked him about seeing UFOs while flying. He responded with a "no", and explained that you really don't have to watch the skies too much once you're up and flying because the electronics take over. He says that most of the time he just sits there and reads a magazine.

But very recently, he brought up the ufo question I asked him a while ago and he said something very cryptic along the lines of "About that subject, there's actually a lot of activity going on up there". I haven't had a chance to press him on this, but I'm glad this show reminded me of his comment.

p.s. Something else that struck me from this episode: David, I think you've been asking GREAT questions lately. Having an awesome guest is only 1/2 of the show - someone could have great information that we need, but if the right questions aren't asked then we might never hear it.

I'd say that 1/ civilian pilots doing transatlantic flights, 2/ radar controllers at Air Defence installations, 3/ military pilots would have some interesting stories to tell.

I'm not into UFO investigations, but had I been into this stuff, the group I'd like to poll would be sea captains (considering that Greece has the largest commercial fleet in the world).

Dave and Gene! One of your best shows yet! You could have this guy back everyday for the next month and still not cover it all. What a great source of knowledge! UAP is the the new UFO :D

We should make t-shirts that say "You down with UAP?"

Agreed!

So have Haines on again, then have more Hastings on, then have more Don Ecker, then back to Haines, Hastings, Ecker..Oh and then have Frank Warren back, too.

If you just had them on for the rest of the Paracast, it'd be fine with me! :D

One of the best shows ever! The hosts (especially dB) asked the right questions and were very keen listeners. I think that Dr. Haines was at times surprised about the hosts' knowledge on the subject. UAP is a great term and I'll try to use it from now on.

The Dr. should be back every month. Analytical research is the way to go for solving the UAP-mystery.

All the best.

Is he a real commercial pilot? A captain would never do that and as 1st officer that would have been his last flight. In my experience they constantly monitor the flight instruments. I can't speak for cargo plane pilots though.

BixyBoo,,, your onto something now,,,how about a 4 hour episode with all them in a roundtable event or extravaganza! I think Daves head would explode! I know mine would.
I've also been spending time at the NARCAP website. Wow, for anyone who hasn't been there, I recommend going and checking it. It's not some B.s. site with little flying saucers all over the place. This site PRO! Great lay out, no B.s. links ( although some were empty? ) PDF files are very detailed, with a wealth of information. It will take days to get through this site. KUDOS!

I've always been a proponent of UAP over UFO. It's a more accurate term, and carries far fewer pejorative connotations. As I wrote in 2006 (see: http://redstarfilms.blogspot.com/2006/05/whats-in-name.html):

UFO is a term loaded with a lot of baggage. It is also, unless you happen to be an adherent of the ETH or EDH, inaccurate - for those of us who maintain that the phenomenon remains a mystery (worth study), the "O" presents a problem, because "object" carries with a certain conclusion that the evidence doesn't yet support (and maybe it never will).

So, some folks, myself included, maintain that UAP - Unidentified Aerial Phenomena - is a better, more scientifically descriptive term, and one that doesn't have the stigma attached to it that "UFO" does.

Widespread acceptance of this term would probably help with the promotion of the serious study of the phenomenon. "UFO" could be left for the fringers, and the true believers.

However, as I noted back then, there is a problem.

If someone who studies UFOs is a "ufologist", practicing "ufology", then logic dictates that someone who studies UAP is a "Uapologist", practicing "Uapology".

Which makes perfect sense, no doubt, to those, like Stan Friedman, who have no time for "apologist ufologists"!

Then again, Stan still insists on using "flying saucers", a term of even more questionable lineage and applicability than UFO.

All things considered, perhaps the status quo isn't so bad after all!

People should remember that the two most important civilian investigative groups, NICAP and APRO, referred to aerial phenomena, and not UFOs.

Ahh, the good old days, when people didn't put the cart before the horse!
