Also remember that many people who buy new cars get Sirius or XM satellite radio free for a period of from three months to a year. They do not have to subscribe, but it may also mean that a lot of the people who listened to Bell were freeloaders. :)
 
C.Crane actually seems some cool gear, if you're into radio. I interviewed founder Bob Crane on my tech show a couple of times, and I have a CCRadio 2 on my desk.
 
Honestly who does Art Bell think he is? He signed up to do a show on a network that relies on paid subscribers and then quits when they won't give away content for free? This would be like Gene and Chris demanding that GCN air their show without ads for free. Also, I use SiriusXM on multiple devices and haven't had a problem in 3 years of subscribing. This whole thing is idiotic but not unexpected. I think he just wanted to quit and needed a lame excuse.
 
When you step away from the paranormal game for over ten years, perhaps you forget how much work it takes to find cutting-edge guests, know what their about and keep shows churning out night-after-night. IMO: Art has been out of the game for far too long and he came to the realization that he's a "has been." The king is gone—long live the new king Gene? Don? MU? Red Ice?

I think he found that he can't rely on boring, outed poseurs that trashed their self-proclaimed gravitas years ago. Oh well, whose next> Gene? Don?

I found the show entertaining because of the ridiculousness of most of the guests. The danger of course is all the people who don't realize these guests were ridiculous. All noise, no signal!
 
So lets approach XM and offer them a REAL, cutting edge paranormal show... imagine... NO commercials, great sound quality, (umm, a salary) and an ever-expanding audience of eager seekers lusting after cutting edge reparte w/ meaning! heh-heh :cool:
 
Work with me to put together the package. There will be ads on Sirius XM, however, same number as we have now. Only the music stations are ad-free. The only saving grace is that perhaps they'll let us market a Pro version without advertising.

I absolutely agree! I've had at least two or three of their shortwaves. And, one of their little portable radios built to pick up far away stations still serves me well when I'm out of town. The line just kinda caught me off guard and I LOLed.

I think Art was very much at home in the 90's. No real competition, no easy ways for listeners to fact check, ect. These days he is nothing but a little fish in a big pond.
