Future show suggestions: Charles Hall, Dr. Carol Rosin

I'd like to hear Paracast interview Charles Hall. I'd also like to hear them interview Dr. Carol Rosin. She has an interesting spin on "off-world cultures." Caveat: she appeared on :frown::mad::o:eek: the disclosure project.

Gene and Dave, can you guys put together a show that can explain the categories of the UFO phenomenon and then explain who is who amongst those categories?

For example:

  • the military
  • abductees
  • witnesses
  • researchers
  • scientists
  • authors
  • frauds (this is a big one - I like to know who to watch out for)
I hear you guys refer to a lot of various people in the field when talking to guests on the show, and sometimes one of you will say those coveted words, "For our listeners who don't know, Jaques Vallee (or whoever is being referenced) is related to XYZ area of the UFO research field." This kind of information is very helpful for listeners like myself who are trying to put together a framework to understand the context and these conversations better as we build our own understanding of the subjects discussed on the show.

I realize the planning for a show like this might prevent you from doing it, but I think it might also really help you attract more visitors to the show.

It's kind of like with professional football, tennis, or hockey... games which have a lot going on all at once, unusual scoring, or rules... it can be difficult for the beginner to follow, but a simple explanation of some of the common concepts can be very useful to engendering new fans and followers, and who knows... the person you teach today could be the one who brings you the big breakthrough tomorrow!

Thanks for a great show!

Hi guys,

I have wanted to make this guest suggestion for quite some time. However I think it may be a better idea for Gene and Dave, and of course everyone here to check this site first:

www.hiddenmeanings.com

The guy behind it all is Bill Donohue, I think that's the correct surname.
If you take a look you will find an awful lot of information there.
All Bills ideas as you will see, and some of it is quite out there. I wont say any more just see what you think and perhaps some of you might agree he would make an interesting and different kind of guest.

He strikes me as someone who has spent a lot of time seeking connections with a
world of different ideas, and has at the very least come up with some interesting
possible explanations.
Whatever, guest or not I would like to hear anybody's views.

Peace,

Mark

I'm assuming you started this thread before deciding to call it quits. That's a shame. I've never listened to a show that was so dead aimed at so many issues that I have an interest in. That., and after 121 episodes., I really took a like to you guys and your regulars. Best of luck to both of you. Bye., from the new guy.

Did I miss something? When did Gene and Dave say they were going to quit? I know Gene said something hinting at this on the last episode.

"Well, Gene & I have had some long talks about this, and we've decided to have a contest for our forum regulars. We're going to pass the show to two of the listeners than can come up with the best new name for the show. No kidding - come up with a better name than The Paracast (which is a terrible name, so this should be easy), and whoever comes up with the best two names gets to take over the show, and implement every cool thing they've always wanted in the show, but which Gene & I are too stubborn to act on (we're old and worn out, so some new blood is obviously the answer). We've come to the end of the road, it's time to wrap this experiment up.

No kidding - we're ready to move on, it's obvious that we've run out of steam and ideas, and we'd like the chance to pass the torch to someone else. You'll get the domain name, the mics we use to record, our Skype accounts, everything currently in place. We'll also give you $200 towards paying the ISP for hosting, and our contact list for show guests.

So get to work, and you can own the show that used to be The Paracast.

This Sunday's episode will be the last one with Gene & myself.

We appreciate all of your kind words and support, and look forward to seeing the next iteration of, well, the new show."

How 'bout "The Paranormal Roundup"., yeehah! or "Close and Personal"., with your host Sylvia Brown.

If you guys have'nt been yanking our collective chains., here are some future show suggestions;
1. A round table discussion with Jacque Valle, Stanton Friedman, Mac Tonnies and Jerome Clark. You could stretch it over two episodes.
2. John Keel

I have Jerome Clark's UFO encyclopedia and it's very good but haven't seen anything from him in a while. What's he doin now?

Hi guys,

I have wanted to make this guest suggestion for quite some time. ...

www.hiddenmeanings.com

What an impenetrable website! It's like he's daring us to actually be able to use it. In my experience sites like that are put up by guys very wrapped up in their own heads.
As for being a guest, I just don't think that would be a good idea. With all the talk of 2012 and Jesus (even his liberal version of Jesus), I think he might get politely pummeled on the show.

Hi Brian thanks for your response,

I must say I agree, he does seem to have disappeared up his own arse with a lot of what is there, and I wasn't actually interested in all that Jesus and 2012 stuff. Also, it's certainly not the most user friendly site out there.

At first glance this site seemed, at least to me, to be run by someone very entrenched in Christian beliefs but after spending some time trawling through masses of info there I cant say that's what I feel now.

As you rightfully pointed out, this guy seems very wrapped up in his own head, but as I said before I really dont think he is some kind of preacher and some of what he has to say is quite fascinating, at least in a bible code sort of way.
Having said all that he probably wouldn't be such a great guest but thanks for taking the time to take a look.

Cheers,

Mark

I knew Jerome Clark way back when, actually. I'm not averse to contacting him, of course. The others are also worthy suggestions. :)
