BTW, just as a side, my point with the media is the absolute FACT that they go for the sensationalism. The problem with the ultra common black youth scenario is that it's too stereo typical. Not sensational enough to capture the ratings. It's just a business.

You really are just digging yourself deeper, Ghettos are housing projects, in fact, the word project is used these days as a slang term for ghetto. Yes it exists in every major city in the USA and frequently these are the areas that are considered Ghettos. They certainly are in my hometown.

Unfortunately because of the past decisions the US has made we are at the point where there are a lot of poor working people out there. If you make 10.00 an hour and the rent in your area is 1500.00 a month you simply can't do it. It's either double or triple the occupancy in order to afford the rent, never having any privacy or get another 10.00 an hour job and work yourself to death just to have a bed to sleep in or look at subsidized housing. Which would you choose?
 
By the way, Jeff, this is the definition of ghetto:

A part of a city, esp. a slum area, occupied by a minority group or groups

So given that the definition of ghetto is part of a city, it can't also be the whole city, so your definition is invalid. Sorry.
 
WRONG: The term is used to refer to AREAS, not specific housing projects. Again, get a clue. Not to mention there are many such cities where the ENTIRE city is in the same condition minus a street or two.

You're quibbling over semantics and I've already shown that you don't even know the definition of ghetto, housing projects are in AREAS, are they not? So by your own admittance, a housing project can be a ghetto. Thanks for playing.

Jeff it's called an opinion, not a clue and I already have one :) I'm just making the point that a lot of good folks live in these places just trying to make ends meet.

Probably as a result of being taught to do so by your parents or as a result of being taught what is commonly referred to as common sense. Unfortunately, not everyone has the benefit of being so educated or so morally upright. There are things that are beyond the control of the individual.
