This may be a very basic question but why is that these virus scares seem to begin in China so often? Is it to do with the population density? Cos, whatever the reason, viruses would be hard-pressed to find a better place in which to jump from person to person.

As if often said, Mother Earth, if 'aware' somehow, can bring to bear unimaginable forces if required, in many areas. I wonder if our spiralling population problem is going to be faced with something horrific such as a pandemic?

Baxter, WHO, CDC etc will make sure of it. Don't believe it? Read what I have posted.

I actually answered that earlier on page 2 of this thread.

As you have yet to answer any of the scientific questions I asked you, it would appear as though you're afraid of being proven wrong.

I won't hold my breath waiting for your response.

Baxter, WHO, CDC will make sure of it. They have tried a few times already.

I'm glad you're finally coming around and looking at the science of this - humans are, at least in-part, responsible for the change in our climate.

And humans are 100% responsible for vaccines ... and there have been cases where they've screwed up a vaccine and caused serious health problems, even death, and then tried to cover it up. They're also one component of bioweapons production, and one day I ran across an Internet site where scientists can even order parts for viruses they're engineering. Another interesting thing about viruses is that they don't have enough material to qualify as living organisms. They're more like mines that attach themselves to living things and destroy them from the inside out. None of this is a conspiracy theory. On the other end of the spectrum, vaccines, when properly manufactured and appropriately used can be useful tools for battling infections. Even more remarkably segments of RNA have been found in space rock, leading some scientists to speculate that life may have been kick-started by meteoric debris.

no. humans are not responsible for climate change we are the product of it...just like polar bears.

Population is the root of this and many other problems, Its no surprise these things tend to start in china for the reasons outlined by RenaissanceLady.

Natural "systems" do indeed have mechanisms to moderate the system.

Our species has found ways to get around most of them.

But no matter how good we get at this game

Sometimes we slip and fall.

And in this case the results could be just unimaginable.

Piles of Dead Bodies
The number of bodies from the victims of the Spanish flu quickly outnumbered the available resources to deal with them.

With todays population figures this situation would be compounded something shocking, which in turn would cause even more disease

This is among the better articles I've read about H7N9:

The H7N9 avian influenza now circulating in China has two of the three characteristics of a pandemic virus, according to a prominent infectious diseases expert.
The novel pathogen -- with 131 laboratory confirmed cases and 32 deaths -- can clearly infect humans and cause disease, according to Andrew Pavia, MD, of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
And, because H7N9 viruses have never been known to infect humans before this year, most people lack immunity to them, Pavia wrote online in Annals of Internal Medicine.
The missing link, he wrote, is the ability to spread easily among people, which the virus lacks. So far, with the exception of two small clusters in China, most of the cases can be traced back to birds rather than to other people.
"The key question," Pavia told MedPage Today, "is can it become efficiently transmittable from person to person? And the simple answer is we don't know."
One reason for that, he argued, is that it's not known what genetic features the virus would have to acquire in order to spread easily.

H7N9 Pandemic? Not Yet but Still Worrisome
Notice the article is stating that there has now been some human-to-human transmission, though admittedly in two small clusters in China. I don't believe I need to mention how important this is.

Thanks for the information! Run don't walk to get in line for your latest vaccination... maybe get two just to be sure. :)
