HDTV Conspiracy.

I have seen such things, but truthfully I don't care much either way. Their bullshit won't work on me regardless, so DARPA can fuck with whatever they want. HAARP won't work on me either. ;)
 
What I thought was most peculiar about this particular article, is that I was out with a group of friends and someone I hadn't met started to talk to me about this very topic, out of the blue.

Needless to say I didn't think much of it. Then I happened to see it linked to another couple of different topics that I thought were equally bizarre.

There is ONE real question though in this that does make me wonder.

Why would the government be so concerned about the quality of the signal for my television viewing? If it's so that the entire world will be on one frequency and do away with the whole NTSC vs PAL thing, that's fine by me.

The notion that I would pay attention to the voices being beamed into my head via my television is a joke. I don't listen to ANYONE, let alone all the different voices in my head that tell me to do all kinds of stuff.

Luckily for me, my cerebral IPOD has a way of blanking out all that stuff.

With that said, I found the article in question to be an interesting trip into fiction.
 
It's going to be one of the things I do for the new house, that I have a room that is technology and electricity free.
 
The reason there are ads urging people to adopt the new technology is so that the whole industry doesnt have to be split between analog/SD/HD
 
Now I'm going to go into the Conspiracy part of it.

They could just as easily keep running the old signal, as nothing on the technology side of things really has changed. It also really doesn't cost anyone anything to keep sending the lower grade signal.

I really don't believe that the FCC has any business ensuring that Americans get the best quality picture on their TV's, especially when HD is an ever changing technology. There's a new HD coming out that's 1440P.

I can see where people would see a conspiracy about the whole HD thing, but subliminal messages, or cued up commands to do stuff is a little out there.
 
Ive heard it all now, 99.9% of people are more than capable of doing exactly as their told without the need of 'brainwashing signals' how silly.

I think its alot more mundane and day to day process than that, lobbyist's 'encourage' government officials to pass bills, like say i dunno for example everyone having to buy a HDTV to watch their favorite shows, company selling HDTV's make lots of money, simple.

And where it saying 'why would government spend 8 billion on xyz?', thats an even easier one to answer....because its not their money! lol
 
I'm not sure that the TV companies in foreign countries need to buy favor with our government to sell more TV's.

With that said, I think I want to make sure that when I buy a house that there's one room, that's technology free.
 
I thought it was all about the billions the gubbamint will raise by auctioning off the vacated bandwidth to telecom companies. Meh.
 
Exactly. The additional bandwidth will allow interactive programs (and by extension, more space for commercialism) into your home. This is going to generate billions for telcoms, advertising agencies and the producers of products. Additionally, the licenses that will be sold by the government for companies to lease these services (in addition to selling the excess bandwidth) will be a profit monster. Why do you think the internet went so commercialized?

I find the NWO government takeover conspiracies utterly ridiculous. The uber-rich that run the world do not need to put in place an expensive domestic military machine to control the populace by force in order to generate fantastic wealth and power. They need only to broadcast more advertisements and idiotic brain-numbing fare like "World's Scariest Police Chases" and "My New BFF" into your living room.

our local TV stations have all installed the HDTV transmitters and are using them side by side with the older ones (to be phased out)

the useless gimps are none the less getting it wrong.

i have 3 HD tuners in the house (i have TV's upstairs and down and in the bedroom)

the govt broadcaster ABC (Aust Broadcast company) is using both its new channels , and another SBS was doing the same, though its since reverted to broadcasting the same across both now.

the other 3, use their second channel for the occasional HD special, with long chunks of whats on the 1st channel in between. bit by bit they are getting there, but its still painful to watch the inept handling of what was promised to be lots of extra choice.

having said that i love HD, all the news and local morning shows are in HD, and you can see the fibres in the shirts ppl are wearing. the detail is just so clear

and as time goes by more and more HD programs are being made and bought by the stations

Dude, I hardly pay attention to the regular media these days; never mind the paranoid rantings of the fringe.

I was curious about one thing, however: How do you figure the new NWO Overlords are going to wrench the power away from the Illuminati? Do you think the Greys and/or Montauk are going to role in the Great War? What side do you expect them to support? ::)

It simply gets depressing hearing the Phophets of Disaster constantly calling for the end of the world as we know it. Christ-on-a-stick, between terrorism, environmental disaster, economic depression, the bird flu "pandemic", the Large Hadron Collider, global warming, "peak oil", frankenfoods and the recently announced WWIII, I wish they would just get it overwith already and put us out of our freaking misery. At least you can look forward to finally having a use for that 'W2K Survival Kit' you purchased back in '99.

Oh yes... That is exactly what I do.

If you took the time to search (I know, not your strong point), you would find that I have posted my own accounts of experiences with both ghosts and UFOs. At no time have I ever tried to deride someone for posting their experiences with such, and have often thanked the poster in the thread (I am aware my "Thanked Count" does not reflect this. I was posting a thank you rather than clicking the Thank button).

That being said, I tend to have little to no faith in conspiracy nutters. You lot seem to live in your own little paranoid reality.
