Paranormal Adept
The other morning my wife asked me if I heard something "hit" the front door last night? She said she had heard it before. It sounded like someone "hit" the door one time. Like a knock or something. She then said she turned on the porch light and there was nobody there. Well, I didn't hear it and just assume it was a dog or the wind. Anyway, last night I am in the living room and I hear a "bump" on the door. I got up and opened the door and turned on the light and there is nothing there. I thought maybe it was the nieghbors lab since she often patrols the yards at night. Maybe it was a gust of wind but there was nothing else disturbed and no high winds. Maybe it was a raccoon coming out of the woods across the road. Maybe it was a sonic boom but that's not what it sounded like. Maybe it was Casper the Friendly Ghost but he wasn't there when I opened the door. :-) Honestly, I don't know what it was. I think it more than likely is either a dog or something. I just gotta be faster with the ole light switch next time. Anyway, nice little mystery for the Halloween season. :-)

Well, I could tell you what it wasn't, but people might get angry.

Ya mean you don't think Casper was knocking at my door? :-)

I didn't get the "feeling" it was paranormal. But, I honestly can't figure it out. I will however, catch the source next time. I'm just gonna hit the lights faster. If that is there is a next time.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I hear noises all the time but I live in a really windy area.

Whitley Strieber always told about knocks. I am convinced Whitley's experiences if true, were more paranormal than extraterrestrial.

I agree (if true) and I honestly belive Whitley believes. It's one of those things where I would have to see it to believe it but I don't rule the paranormal out. He is (imo) sincere.

I don't "worry" except that I have a little boy. It's the flesh and blood monsters that concern me as a parent.

Yeah, I agree with that, but since there was no one there, I doubt it was a person. Unless the Flash is stalking you.

The Flash! That would be so cool. I was a huge comic fan as a kid. Thor, Flash, Daredevil the original X-Men (before they went all drama and lifetime for men) :-) Batman was my favorite. Superman and AquaMan. :-) But, it better be "flash" cause I'm gonna be fast next time I hear it. :-)

AGREED! It is amazing how much of my brain is constantly dedicated to worrying about my kids. I'm not sure if thats healthy but I cant help it.

I still vote for my neighbors lab. Except she doesn't run after making a noise. She feels she has a perfect right to be there. She also knows we "love" her as if she were our dog. Little nut. :-)

Yeah I agree Ron. I sometime think I won't be able to really take a deep breath until he's at least 18. Even them I'll still be a daddy. :-)

Angel I know what you mean. I've always been a Dexter fan but didn't really enjoy last season. To much "danger" directed toward kids for my taste. It didn't bother me when I was single and didn't have a child. Now I just can't stand that theme.

I loved Carmine Infantino's Flash as a kid. Thor is very cool and until recently Daredevil was a pretty good read. I enjoyed the original X-Men as well and really got into them during Neal Adam's brief run in the 70s. Batman and Superman were big favorites of mine too and when I started reading comics again years ago I piled up a few of those. Aquaman? So you're the Aquaman fan!? I knew there was one out there somewhere. :) I've been enjoying Captain America the past year or so and Matt Wagner's Green Hornet is pretty cool right now. I'm really into scans of the old 1950s and 1960s Atlas comics lately (see my avatar.) HeavyInk - Comic Book Store - Buy Comics & Graphic Novels is a great place to order comics online. You get a discount and more than 3 comics shipped at once only costs you 99 cents.

Yep I'm the Aquaman fan. :-) Thor was a favorite of mine at one time. Amazing how few folks realize how good that comic was. Batman was, is and always will be my favorite. I thought the 1960's series was the greatest show ever. (Of course I was nine or ten years old at the time.) :-) I devoured Batman comics. Thanks for the link. :-)

Nope, and I have no interest in it. He just doesn't come off as sincere to me. I could be wrong, but unfortunately unless he can do anything to prove his case, there's nothing there to convince me.

Alright then. (Slams the door to the office) So your opinion is admittedly uninformed and clearly biased based on your imagination and hearsay rather than any research or inquiry!?

How do imagine Strieber could make his case other than writing several books that you admit to refusing to read?

Doesn't your position strike you as a bit absurd my friend? I mean come on, basing your opinion on your own willful ignorance is hardly advisable is it? Shame on you. (wiggles his index finger in your general direction) And you wonder why some would view skeptics and the comments they make here with some degree of disdain and suspension? My GAWD! (Rips his clothes and staggers from the office into the hall... screaming and sounds of multiple sets of running feet ensue.)

I understand T.O. and I agree there is something to the Strieber stuff. But, I can also (Straddles fence here and hopes it doens't hurt balls.) :-) see where Angel might feel it's pure hokem. It is a lot to take in from one person.

Based on what I wonder? What does Angel base his opinion on? He has admitted a total and willful I might add, ignorance of the material and therefore the subject. He is whistling in the dark while pissing on someone's leg trying to convince them that it is in fact raining. Please. (arranges the shreds of his clothing around him assuming a quite dignity)
