Makes you wonder, "Why so big?" Did the thing contain a giant Galactus-like being, a colony of travelers, or was it a cargo vessel as well?

Stanton Friedman has the best idea for this. The large one is a mothership analogous to our aircraft carriers. This thing was twice the size of the Ronald Reagan.
If I was zipping all over the galaxy with a few thousand friends I'd also have space for more than a lunch bag.. ;)

To see something like that while piloting an aircraft must have been incredibly terrifying. I've heard the pilot's account several times over the years but not anything from the rest of the crew. Anyone know if the crew's account it available somewhere?

... still a mistery. Guess they want to keep their jobs ;)

Maybe the huge "ship" is itself a living thing. Like a huge microbe or something. Or would it be a Macrobe? haha. Those weird "snake" or "worm" ufos that were filmed in mexico also make me think of this.

That's a broad stroke if I ever saw one. We've got quantum improvements over the control over our airspace in the last 100 years and we're at the stage where we can take a serious look into the good cases.

Get the radar track for the following case, check the flight coms below. Interview the witnesses (pilot, co-pilots....) I would definitely link this event to a simple ETH scenario. Get to the bottom of this through official investigation and you'll get your answer.
I don't see how anyone can logically go from what is little more than a description of "something" to actually identifying the source of that "something". We all suffer from "not knowing what we don't know", but this arena of paranormal suffers most. People lurch from guess to guess and try to wrap their particular guess in pseudo-science, jargon and condescension of other guesses.

Strip away all the diagrams and transcripts and what we're left with is little more than saucer shaped scribblings on a stone wall. I hold fast that we are no closer to an answer than we were 2500 years ago. Until we know we simply don't know. "Hypothesis" comes easy when it can never be tested or validated to raise it to the level of science. I'm pretty certain that someday we'll recognize that these things in the sky were not at all the simple things we "hypothesized" they were.

On a galactic scale who knows, maybe a macrobe.. LOL. Like the previous poster said: without investigative efforts who knows what it could be ;)

Despit what some may have negatively thought of Albert K. Bender, I never could totally discount his story of MIBs taking him to a ufo base underneath the ocean. I saw many impressive accounts over the years, of spaceship-looking ufos emerging and descending from/into the oceans, by credible seafaring witnesses, men whos lives depended on them being competent, out at sea. In fact, I wonder how many reports of ufos-with-oceans, versus ufos-from-space.
