Listening now--does Greenfield EVER stop talking? Please send along the time he does so I might skip ahead.

And did you actually listen to what he was saying? Or we're you just waiting for him to stop without noticing the words he used?

Well I wrote a quick note on my calender for July 3rd. I hope he wasn't talking about fire works being mistaken for a big UFO event.

It took me awhile to get used to Jim Mosley's sence of humor but now I like listening to him. Gene, do you remember anything more about the intention behind the phone call that Jim nade to the police the day before the ?? (can't remember the name) flap? That was an interesting tidbit.

The case involved sightings in the vicinity of Wanaque Reservoir, New Jersey, in 1966. Jim simply made what I recall to be a random call to a police department about an alleged UFO. A fake report, of course, but it was made to a police department in the Wanaque vicinity which, if nothing else, was a weird coincidence.

I was very young then, as you might imagine, and I don't recall all the details, but, to this day, Jim still doesn't remember much about it. I talked to him a couple of days after we recorded the show -- and that's where it stands.

The Wanaque Story was an interesting surprise to me on the show - I was merely citing a familiar case (to Gene; I was aware Moseley never remembered it which of itself is strange) one of many which led me to the conclusion - I was speaking to David's point about the 'cult of personality' in UFOlogy - that I think the personalities are part of the phenomenon. This is Gray Barker's point in The Silver Bridge, and has been a basic given with me for many years.

My sense of humor was shaped by several friends, among them Jim Moseley. So if you missed the humor in his rant, you may have missed mine as well. Humor is an implicit part of my approach to life, and a great many of the comments on this "old timer show" may have been obvious only to Gene, Jim and I.

 Fireworks? In my neck of the woods, we do fireworks on the 4th of July. But if we're gonna dismiss any reports within 30 days of a holiday as not counting, you get a self-fulfilling prophecy of a disconfirmed prediction.

BTW, as a scientific illuminist, disconfirmation is as valuable as confirmation.

You raise a fascinating topic, old friend, which is the intrinsic connection of the people involved in UFO research to the phenomena. I wonder if any of our listeners want to talk about that a little further.

:D Thanks, Gene. Actually, Jim talked almost as much as I did. It is interesting to me that so many people complain about "nothing new in UFO research" acting hostile to something new - which, by definition, requires a bit or more than a bit of explanation.

I have been greatly frustrated that - though thousands have read "Secret Cipher of the UFOnauts" and "Secret Rituals of the Men in Black" which explains the entirely mechanical method of 'prediction' I am talking about (it is pure cipher - no occult aspect internal to it), people want my predictions, rather than using the cipher and earlier cases to make predictions and test the methodology in practice themselves. In any case, I suspect, if my predictions turn out to be correct, the nuts-&-bolts squad will continue to find explanations that suit their preconceptions, and this will maintain the UFOlogy status quo until UFOlogists start to work with the cipher themselves and get results to their own satisfaction.

I really enjoyed the show!

And we enjoyed having you, which means the door is always open for your return.

Meantime, you're always welcome on our forum to discuss whatever interests you. :D

BTW: I do agree that Jim had a very fair amount of airtime for himself.

I have listened once and I have appreciated both guest.I was happy to hear that Gene was part of this epoch. All 3 of them were pioneers and they have much more knowledge than the new comers. On second listening I may start "deconstruct "what has been said but when these people are going to pass away , we are going to miss something.I wish we can register everything before they are gone.

Allen.
What specific types of paranormal phenomena manifest or are around during forbidden sexual encounters?

Does being brought up Catholic automatically increase someone's odds of having these types of paranormal events?

Gene,
I would like to comment about the personalities and the phenomena but I want to make sure what you are talking about. I assume you are talking about either the creation or the influence of the people in the field and the phenomena.

"Monsters" of the Flatwoods and Mothman type, strange uminous streeks and orbs of ecotoplasm; the whole range, really, once associated with physical mediumship.
