Free episodes:

I enjoyed the episode, but I was disquieted by Jim Mosely admitting to UFO hoaxes in his youth. I can tell that humor is central to his personality, but hoaxing these things--even when young and drinking--just seems wrong to me.

Am I alone in this? Or is this just harmless old stories by a charming old man?

I agree with you that, in retrospect, perpetrating those hoaxes didn't help Jim's reputation and it has made it difficult for lots of people to take him seriously. And he is really, really serious about these things, having spent all of his lengthy adult life in this pursuit.

Understood. I'm new to the field, so I didn't know all this.

I can sympathize, because I certainly did some dumb things as a young man. I'm not one to believe that one should have to wear an albotross around their necks all their lives.

Allen, do either of your books delve into your theory of the forbidden eroticism aspect of the more bizarre characters who show up? I thought that was interesting and wondered if it were something you gleaned from your experience in the OTO?

Been meaning to buy your books since the last interview on the Paracast. Wish me luck.

Allen? Allen? You still around?

Forgot to mention that I'll be coming back to Houston on July 3rd. I'm hoping to make it for the big event!

(You wouldn't happen to know what time I need to be here, would you?)

Cheers!

I'll be scanning the skies of Houston in July also. I'll report back to you guys.

BrianNow, aren't you in Houston too?

Maybe we could give all-points bulletins. :D

"Poi reporting from West Houston ..."

Ha yes, good idea. We'll get walkie talkies... "10:45, Montrose area is clear. Over."

another good episode (still got 10 mins left though), some cool theories, stories, and we even get a nice nugget with Al putting himself out on a limb with his prediction of July 3rd.

Will this be another Stephenville sighting, an early 4th of July firework, we'll have to see............

David, great job for pulling that out of Al, otherwise what's the point of hearing how effective his cipher is.

Now he's going to have to fake a huge sighting. Time to unretire Moseley's hoaxing abilities.

What I'd like to see is someone sending up a fake ufo on the 3rd, and then a real ufo shows up and shoots down the fake one. It's about time the aliens spiced up their sightings.

the entirely mechanical method of 'prediction' I am talking about (it is pure cipher - no occult aspect internal to it)

Allen,

I didn't realize you were going to be back on so soon. I have immensely enjoyed the previous episodes with you. If I had realized that you were going to show up so often I would be more active in posting questions in the Question Bank forum.

One question I had that I wish had been explored more was something you mentioned in one of the previous shows, that being a statement that was something to the effect that certain people in occult circles warned you to stop drawing the connection between ufos and the occult. I would very much like to hear some expansion on this subject.

1. I'm not asking for names but can you generally relate something about who did the warning? Was this leadership of a specific organized Western tradition group?

2. Can you comment on what you believe the motivation for the warning was? What do you feel they believed would be the consequences of exploring a link?

3. Can you comment on what those doing the warning believe to be the case regarding ufos? For example, where in their worldview do ufos fit and do they ascribe them as a manifestation of some particular source? Is there any form of internal, current consensus in those circles as to the origin and nature of ufo phenomena?

4. As you have asked people to try the cipher themselves, I bought both of the books and have. Are you still actually using the DOS version of Lexicon or is there some updated tool w/ a less awkward interface?

thanks

Brandon, um uh. I doubt Montrose will be clear. In fact, it has to hover over Montrose. Too damn colorful and artsy for an alien to pass up. :P

Yes. It was the current OHO of the c OTO which later expelled me.

2. Can you comment on what you believe the motivation for the warning was? What do you feel they believed would be the consequences of exploring a link?

The reason given was that it would "be bad for my reputation as a writer" - this from an occultist. The real reason may have been something more sinister, as the connection between, say, Aleister Crowley's contact "Lam" and the much later grey aliens is obvious, and their is an undercurrent of the Sirius Mystery in OTO secret ritual and that of predecessor rites. The Oannes (aquatic being from Sirius as in Robert Temple's The Sirius Mystery) in the pivotal III Degree OTO ritual. I was, btw, a much decorated high degree member when expelled for speaking my mind in public.

Most middle and upper level occultists are hard-core debunkers, for unclear reasons. I address this in Secret Rituals of the Men in Black. The bulk of the members are in the third triad (outer) and many are pro-UFO and see no conflict between the subjects.

4. As you have asked people to try the cipher themselves, I bought both of the books and have. Are you still actually using the DOS version of Lexicon or is there some updated tool w/ a less awkward interface?

There is a more up to date tool--you might try Gerald del Campo's Cipher 2000 at
http://www.geocities.com/solis93/cipher.html
who I think wrote the program. I no longer use Lexicon, but do manual conversions. There is a dictionary of conversions from Luxor Press by John Crow that is handy for looking up word values in NAEQ.

This is wierd. My grandparents had a tea set. On each delicate tea cup was a hand painted picture of this LAM creature frollicing in what appeared to be an Alpine Meadow. I know my mother destroyed them when she inherited all their things. Stranger than fiction, I know, but how many 5 year old boys know about LAM? My mom just said he was a bad creature and it was bad luck to use them or keep them in the house, since they would attract evil. A bit heavy for a 5 year old who was used to drinking Kool Aid from a Fred Flintstone cup.

Interesting. I would love to see that and learn their origin and time period. There may be a chance that other sets are still in existence. I'm sure there are obsessive collectors of tea sets out there with which you could make some inquiries.

Allen,
I have not read any of your books and I just checked out your website briefly. You have alot of information there. Do you happen to know which occult group and/or secret society has a ritual where the leader dresses up in a purple robe and hat that has white stars and moons on it. The person looks like a Merlin figure.

Thanks

AC drew the LAM picture circa 1920.

 I delve a bit, but Gray Barker deals with it in more depth. I do cover this in my books on the occult, such as The Story of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light (which I can provide or you can get sans autograph from Amazon) and THE ROOTS OF MAGICK 1700-2000.

::) Evening, I'd guess, but just a guess. Late. Probably South of Houston.
