So the guy who created the fake image and video is the only one who can make a video showing how to create that simplistic fake image and video? I don't think so, it would be trivial to fabricate the fabrication.

Sorry, if it's on the Paratopia forums, it's suspect to me. I could be wrong, but I have lots of reasons to have trust issues with that place. Sad, but true.

The apparent reason for having emailed Jeremy with this is that the fellow had previously provided some footage of his work to be used in the Truthvolution movie, so it does make sense that he would send this to him.

I think you're reading something into it there. The "hoaxer guy" had previously done some things trying to show how Billy stuff could be replicated, and allowed Jeremy to use some of it in his Truthvolution. Now he's done some stuff showing how easy it is to hoax stuff and get people to believe it, and evidently thought "Hey, I'll send this to that fellow too". It's not like they collaborated on it or anything, at least it most certainly doesn't look that way to me... but again, I'm no renown analyst, I'm just going by the way it genuinely looks and feels to me. :shy:

Ah... must have threatened to pull advertising. That's, I suppose, one of the dangers of making such deals, that you lose a certain amount of being able to have open and honest expression. I don't *blame* anyone for making advertising deals and trying to get paid for time and efforts, but it does make the heart sink a bit when you see results of this sort.

You'll have to ask Gene, but I believe there was some mention of potential legal action, and we don't have the finances to engage in that kind of shit. We don't get a dime from UFO Magazine, unless Gene would like to state otherwise. Gene?

It's understandable. A lot of people have a very deep and emotional connection to the issues of "UFOs and the paranormal", and how it is being dealt with and portrayed by the media makes a huge difference in the public perception of such things, which comes all the way back to how "experiencers" and such feel about themselves and are treated by the public, among many other factors... it's something a lot of folks feel personally passionate about.

I don't think it exactly crossed the threshold of the threat of legal action, but I could see the handwriting faint in the distance.

As you state, the ad is an exchange deal. We do a few of those to promote the show, since there is a budget of exactly zero to do it otherwise.
