I admire your sense of ethics. However to be fair, none of us suspected Harzan would get lured by a detective posing as a 13 year old into meeting in-person. We've interviewed him. Given his intelligence, I really doubt he believed the detective was actually 13 years old. I also doubt that had she actually been only 13, that he would have agreed to meet for the purpose of anything illegal.
This wasn't a locker-room type situation where the coach had certain facts and there could be no doubt. No physical contact was even made. The charge is one where he was setup and then accused of "solicitation". It's pretty dirty on both sides. But such charges have a stench that nobody wants to be even remotely associated with, except maybe his lawyer.
Personally, I've never been a MUFON member, and I don't know if Gene still is. I also don't know if Harzan's case has been concluded, and if so, what the verdict was. I did a brief search before posting this, but didn't find anything new.
