He doesn't want your prayers - he wants your dollars. Give him enough doe and he'll vector a UFO down onto the Whitehouse lawn for you... :D

I am sure that he makes no such discriminations!

Religions is just another form of making people submit to some type of authority so that those on the top, in this case the priesthood, can exercise control over a large number of people by forcing them to do what they wish with the promise of a better afterlife.

There is no real difference to that of the institutions of Kingdom, Royalty, Dictatorship or any other concept of control a large number of people with lies and illusions for the benefit of a few. It makes no real difference whether the person on the top is called the Pope, or the King/Queen, or the CEO of a company, or the President who was elected by the 99% of the popular vote or electronic voting machines. The reason for all these phenomenically different concepts is the same: the thirst for power and control. And of course power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

And I believe that one can extend this to the UFO phenomenon and the policy of non-disclosure of any information or new technologies developed either by reverse engineering or even by entirely human efforts in black projects.

The reason for this is the same: the thirst for power and control. It is not about protecting the population from some type of social or philosophical shock. It is simply the good old story of using anything that can give some advantage to a small group of people so that they can satisfy their thirst for power and their personal benefit.

The fact is that history does not really change. It simply repeats itself in various forms. In the past it was all about the power of those who were supposedly in contact with God and his plans, today is about the power of those who can control money and technology. Tomorrow, we will invent something new.

We, as a species, have not evolved too much after all. We may have advanced our sciences and technology but deep inside we are still the same power hungry animals who are desperately trying to find ways to dominate our fellow people, other animals and nature in general so that we can satisfy our egoism, our insane thirst for power, domination and self benefit regardless of any consequences.

Can you give us an example where current scientists do this?

...

Perhaps your own faith is an irrational distrust of science by lumping scientists with all "authority figures" which you obviously do not trust at all.

I've never heard someone equate distrust with faith. I think I smell a tenuous attempt to lump me in with religious people.

And yes you are correct, I question the legitimacy of all authority figures and power structures. I picked up this very sensible motto from a personal hero of mine, Mr Chomsky.

And an excellent motto it is!

well according to Christians the earth is only around 6000 years old and dinosaurs walked the earth around 3000 - 4000 years ago

theres this university in America called "liberty university" that allegedly has dinosaur fossils showcased with a little sign saying their 3000 years old

a religion like this is followed by over 1 BILLION people *sigh*
faith in humanity -1000

if i may interject there wezzy... i am a christian... have been for the last 7 years and am currently studying biblical theology at college... and to say that Christians belief says that the earth is 6000 years old is misinformed. Actually... if you were to speak to any student at my college I think you would find it hard to find anyone at my college (who are all christian) who would subscribe to that theory. Personally I think that theory is a hunk of junk.
but in saying that... there are some christians (mostly fundamentalists) who would say that the earth is 6000 years old and saddens me that people actually think that! It sounds so dumb! haha
