@sesame shtick - Any chance of revealing your real identity? Have you ever used this site before under a different name? No big deal, just felt that your writing style was familiar!

Me too... Maybe we should conduct a poll that attempts to guess the identities of our latest under-the-bridge dwellers visiting the forum. Then I'll get my 'net-wiz bang guy to ID some IPs.

So, who do you think "sesame schtick" and "smorry" are? I have my suspicions, but what do YOU think? Any names spring to mind besides Lance Moody (who heads my list?)

Then, we can kick around why this rag-tag-team has decided to visit whine and bark woof-woof...
This could be fun!

Why do you feel the need to hide behind the name 'sesame shtick' so you can be an ass when everyone else is in this forum to learn new things and swap ideas, have arguments and discussions etc?

I have a feeling you've been here before in another guise. Your kind usually do that kind of thing. I am willing to admit I'm wrong if you prove otherwise but I predict you wont.

He's wasting his time and our time here, he should try the rubber chicken circuit in the catskills where his talents would be more appreciated.

Well I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest his pedigree includes rainbows unicorns, money and quetzal something, and if form holds he will edit my post to come out scatalogical in nature because that's the best he can do

To be fair to Lance Chris, one thing I think he is is upfront. He will say what he thinks under his own name - unless you have seen otherwise?

I was joshing about Lance. He's an upfront dude who doesn't need to hide behind cutesy avatars or lame baiting techniques. He's a manly man aboard a manly ship w/ other manly men conducting survellience of other manly men on a mission. Or something like that... I mentioned Lance because I was hoping he'd come out of lurker mode and join in w/ our under-the-bridge brigade... lol

@Chris - ok you got me fair and square, I actually thought you were being serious about Lance and I fell for it. As you can see however, I myself did indeed believe Lance would never hide behind crap like 'sesame shtick'. Who is that guy? Someone with an actual grudge against the show I'll wager?

He/she must have a really sad life cos I don't know many people who would take the time to write posts and read others in a forum of a show you don't even like! I mean that's a lot of negative energy so who knows how unhappy they are in real life? I genuinely feel pity for the person. I mean, it's kids stuff hiding behind a false identity to snipe at people anonymously.

Lol you guys think every troll is that Quetoadjil douche or whatever his dumb name was. You can test that hypothesis easily, just make fun of Andrew Basiago and see if he responds. I was describing a particular moment that happened as I was listening to the show: "I was yelling at my screen "Gene! That's all the stuff Chris does!"", notice the quotes. It was a spontaneous reaction at that moment. When Gene responded, I re-listened to the list and replied "Fair enough. I just listened to the list again and yes I shouldn't have said all 10 items. I would say 5 of them fit, but then I'm only going on how he comes across in the show while you know him in much greater depth." I don't think that's too harsh.

when you got called on this in RPJ's response, you then decided it wasn't worth mentioning what exactly Chris does that makes you feel this way.

Actually I think it was Gene that called me out by disagreeing with me. RPJ was asking what the five points were that I thought fit. I spent some time writing out what 5 points I thought fit and why, and realized it was all subjective, that I wasn't going to convince anyone and that I didn't want to fan the flames of any flame war (at this point Chris had already made his "newbies" and "I'm watching you" comments) so I deleted it all without posting it.

You also did all of this on his home turf, where you know Chris will be reading and will certainly have some defenders.

Yes I did. If we were talking about the Dallas Cowboys and I was posting saying the weekend's game worked out better because a certain player was out and another player did a good job, chances are I would do it on a Dallas Cowboys forum because I'm probably a Cowboys fan. Of course there would be people with different opinions and players who participate in the forums. But it wouldn't make sense to post it in the Steelers' forum.

Yes it is, if I was at someone's house for a party or a dinner. This is a public forum for a commercial endeavor and this particular forum is for the discussion of shows and this particular thread is about a particular show, so I would think it fair to criticize anything and everything about the show here.

Now you seem surprised that Chris and many of those who respect him will stand up and defend him.

I said in my response to RPJ I realized that"Chris would at some point come in and start name calling" and in my response to you I said "That's just the way I way feel. I fully understand not everyone feels that way." No I wasn't surprised. The only thing that really surprised me was Chris saying "I'll get my 'net-wiz bang guy to ID some IPs." which seems in conflict with the words at the bottom of this page...

I think that was going a bit too far for a representative (official or non official ) of the show and this site.

I have just stated my opinion. It's an opinion. Everyone has them. I didn't call anyone names. I didn't make personal comments about people's lives. I have tried to keep everything in the context of the roll of co-host and that this is nothing more than my opinion. My first response to you was because I thought you wanted to know the reasons for my statements. I tried to give you those reasons and to clarify my position.

For my part I'd like to say this. I get called out for some of my procedures at work regularly, I expect it , I'm not perfect and there some aspects of my job I can also handle better but there are also some aspects I do better than anybody else. but if the owner( I'm a store manager) ever started name dropping on me ( ralph was much better) I'd walk out on his ass and let him open up in the morning...and he PAYS me...tossing out any names in comparison in front of a person is just plain RUDE regardless of the forum. the few places it may be kosher would be in political forums where we pay people to manage things for us and should be accountable to us. For Chris this is probably closer to a labor of love,(?) he does not work for us, is not accountable to us, in gene's own words he gets "scraps" in terms of compensation. Is there some things he could do better? sure he could. I mentioned several times that I had a hard time grasping what he was trying to get across in his tricksters book..and I'm a fairly smart person..it wasn't until after I heard his follow up podcasts that I got it. but I didn't go around here or anywhere else posting "steinbeck could have done a better job" or "mailer would be like a breath of fresh air on handling this subject"

There are also some aspects that chris does as well and better than anyone else, and that would include nick and when and if nick comes on to the forum and comes across this thread I'm sure he should take great pains to caution anyone against comparing the two of them. Nick had been on the show quite a few times as guest, more than I think as co-host and my guess is if he got on the other side of the mike he would fall short in some places and have to take his lumps for a non paying job from us freeloading opinion junkies . Maybe even from me, but I'd refrain from throwing out other names, as I said that's for politicians and multi millionaire athletes. Smorry if you were called to task for something you were doing on a near pro bono basis would you be that gracious if someone said chris would be like a breath of fresh air compared to smorry instead of just pointing out their opinion" I think smorry could do this a little better, there are some places where we could express our opinions better and I think this forum is one. Just my opinion

Yeah, I guess I never understood the hiding, trolling attacks on forums, this one or any other one. I mean if you can't reveal who you are or are hiding so you're not personally attacked I suppose that seriously diminishes your argument. If you're just venting and can't say who you are because you're a public figure or a member of the military or what-not, well, you still hold no validity to your argument, nor credibility to your words because we can't tell you from Bobby-Sue.

I don't know. I guess the hiding just confuses me.
