Without searching the 300 replies on this thread, someone has undoubtedly recommended Ray Kurzweil right??

David or Gene, have you ever tried to get him on?? This guy is a brilliant man whether you buy the Singularity stuff or not. I'd love to hear a discussion with him on the Paracast.

I'd love to hear Ray Kurzweil on the show, but considering how much of his work has made it from science fiction to science fact--is he an appropriate guest for the Paracast? I'm embarrassed to say, I haven't read his more recent work--is is paranormal in nature? Aside from his being a futurist and work in transhumanism--both of which, I'm sure, will come to pass--Does he write about the paranormal?

Michio Kaku, does write and speak (on TV, anyway) about the possibiltiy of alien life in the univers, and I can see where he'd fit the parameters of the show... same thing with Ray Kurzweil? Somebdoy who has read his more recent work, help me out here.

Also, as with Kaku, I'm sure he'd be a difficult guest to get on, it's not like he's hawking anything or needs the exposure... but I'd certainly like to hear him on the show.

As to Dr. Joseph Farrell, if you can't wait for the Paracast interview, our friends over at Eerie Radio interviewed him:

Blowing up the Giza Deathstar

I haven't listened to it yet, but also look for episodes #10 and #60...

What about David Jacobs? I heard of him a couple of years ago. He seems to be of the mind that the aliens are out to get us. Anyone know anything about him? I think I've got the name correct. Doctor at Tulane University last time I heard.

Not sure if you know this or not, Jacobs has been on already.

He left Temple?

I think once a month, preferably on a Full Moon, David and Gene need to do a Moon Bat episode.

They get the worst guest possible, and totally lambaste them for being a total and complete fraud.

I promise you all, it would drive up the ratings... If podcasts are rated.

Bill Knell is NOT a UFO researcher. He is a fake, a fraud, and an outright thief. He has never interviewed anybody that didn't already live in the Long Island area. He claims to run a non-profit group called Island Skywatch that is anything but--it's his meal ticket.

...

Ask Don Ecker. Ask Bill Birnes. Ask anyone in the UFO community that has a reputation to lose. They will tell you that Bill Knell is a fraud.

Damn. This just goes to show that you can't trust anyone these days. He initially came off to me as a mild mannered and well-informed guy, and he was just a charlatan stealing other people's stuff.

I'm embarrassed I suggested him! Looks like I'll have to do some background digging before I make my next request.

This book was published back in 2000, but I found it to be very good and thought-provoking--and digestible for this dumb layman! It might be interesting to hear its authors fielding questions from Dave and Gene.

The book is Rare Earth: Why Complex Life Is Uncommon in the Universe, by Professors Peter D. Ward and Donald Brownlee.

The authors argue that microbial life may be very common throughout the universe, while complex life may actually be extremely rare. As the dust jacket summarizes:

... Ward and Brownlee question underlying assumptions of Sagan and Drake's model [that there are likely millions of ET civilizations scattered throughout the galaxy]....

Just a suggestion.

How about Ray Garton? He is a horror writer but has a background in the paranormal. He ghost wrote "In a Dark Place" concerning the Warrens. I have emailed back and forth with him and he is very critical of them. He recounts Ed and Elaine Warren as not being very honest. I don't know anything about em except for the "reputation" they have had as paranormal researchers. After "talking" via email with Ray I'm not real impressed with em. Garton also wrote Live Girls and other books you may have heard of.

I ran across this guy's site a while back and thought he might be a good guest:

Jack Houck

He could be a complete shyster but he developed an interesting model of how he think telekinesis and psychic powers work. He also has what he claims is analysis by a Boeing metallurgist of rods that were bent with telekinesis that show unique results.

Its a shame that folks are losing cred just by associating with Project Camelot.

I fully respect your decision not to even bother looking into him because of that fact.

Ye gods, if we did the same thing for everyone there wouldn't be any guests on the show. And anyway, should I even bother listening to the Paracast since they've had guests such as Michael Horn, Bruce Goldberg etc etc etc ...

To me this smacks a bit of throwing the baby out with the bath water ... but that of course is always my own opinion.

'Entire-Show' Guest Suggestions:

Patrick Harpur - Specifically, his take on the paranormal via the book Daimonic Reality: A Field Guide To The Otherworld. I kinda dig his take on the phenomena with its nod to the power of the collective consciousness and perhaps more important candidate for the source of all things weird and wonderful, the Imagination.

Patrick Harpur

Robert Bruce - Astral Travel, Out-of-Body-Experiences, Psychic Self-Defence and more. Robert is touted as a mystic but comes across very humbled. After listening to the way his voices quavers when speaking about Demonic Possession I personally think he's really been places and seen things that would turn most people on their proverbial heads.

Official Astral Dynamics - Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics

The Following Individuals would likely suit An Artists-Only Roundtable
:

Alex Grey -
A New Yorker with incredible visionary talent whose paintings are like shrines - his work packs a lot of soul and wonder. Being involved with Psychedelics I imagine he has some understanding of the paranormal.

Alex Grey

Cevin Key
aka Kevin Crompton, is the multi-instrumental mastermind behind Download, Skinny Puppy etc. His second solo album entitled The Ghost of Each Room, pays homage to the paranormal/occult. His music is spooky, I'm just not sure he is... but who cares, get him on board if possible.

Subconscious Communications

other obvious notables:

Dr. Rick Strassman

John Keel
Rupert Sheldrake

Apologies if these names have already been brought up but I'd love to hear an interview with

* Professor Peter Sturrock ( He's getting on a bit so you might have to hurry )

*Jenny Randles - UFO reseacher

*Stuart Miller - Cool UFO scene commentator ( writer, editor etc )

* Larry Warren

Best , Mullpig

What about an interview with someone outside the field such as Matthew Bellamy from the band Muse? His interest in UFOs and conspiracy theories is evident in the band's music as well as in several interviews.

Admittedly I'm a huge fan, but I think it would make for an entertaining episode.

-todd.

I'd second that for a "Artist-Only Roundtable" discussion on the paranormal. Thanks!

2nd Tier-

Michio Kaku - Theoretical Physics

3rd Tier-

Leonard Horowitz - Emerging Viruses
Alex Jones - Conspiracy

Michio Kaku would be a great guest, he would be a 1st tier choice for me

As for Alex Jones he's a total quack, I used to listen to his show every day in the past but can't stand five minutes now. It would however be interesting to hear how that interveiw played out see how David would deal with him
