Yes, and isn't it good to see that happening? The one beneficial result of Trump's election will be the intense civics and history lessons it can provide for the American populace.
For sure people are 'awake' - BUT the damage being done is immense. I am appalled at the number of people being halted at our borders and questioned - sometimes for hours - who have no business having their credentials questioned. It is clear that the people hired into these security forces are not-too-smart and likely 'enjoy' the 'power'. Scary as all hey. Needs to stop asap!

After this the Republican party will be lucky to get a school board seat.
But in 2 years a lot of unravelling can be done (and is being done as we speak) - and remember, this last election was 'won' through serious election fraud (far more to do with that than the Russians, in fact). The problems are not going away unless at the grass roots level people start to pay attention and change the voting apparatus they are dealing with. If they can at this point.

I was once told that if the 2012 election was successfully stolen, it was over for the US. That election was not stolen by a fluke - but 2016 was. I have a suspicion that the 'they' doing this are making very sure 2018 and 2020 go their way - that they are never again caught-out as they were in 2012.

Yes, and isn't it good to see that happening? The one beneficial result of Trump's election will be the intense civics and history lessons it can provide for the American populace.

That may depend on the new U.S. Education Secretary, Betsy DeVos who might opt to replace civics and climate change with creationism in the classroom to “advance God’s Kingdom”.

Trump's education pick says reform can 'advance God's Kingdom'

Every American should be required to complete a comprehensive civics course and a mandate ordered so every American of voting age be required to cast their ballot.

… and in a perfect world, election day should be observed as a federal holiday so every American has an equal opportunity to cast their vote, or, at least to have the option of voting by mail.

This may never occur because in some states the filthy rich, (including politicians); choose to keep the population under educated to serve their particular needs in the name of their deity/constituent. Let the factory worker toil in a right to work state, while enabling the blue collar, under-educated consumer, to consume everything in sight.

The phenomenon known as Trump is a painful lesson learned for those willing & able.

We are in a serious downward spiral - so strange given what is happening in terms of climate and warming. We really are at a crossroads. It's going to get bad, before it can get better. :( People are waking up but not fast enough - and action needs leaders.

What could happen is not minor, especially to peoples' money, their savings. People could lose everything. Ellen Brown is an exceedingly savvy lady - well worth a listen. Some may already be aware of her. What Trump just did to California - shutting down the state's infrastructure plans - could be gotten round with its own state bank. It's being looked into - but in the past it's been blocked.

Great Minds: Ellen Brown - Why Public Banks Make More Sense
TEXT: "Published on Jan 8, 2016: When the next financial crisis comes - the big banks could save themselves by stealing right out of your checking account. Banking expert Ellen Brown, Public Banking Institute/Web of Debt/The Public Bank Solution will explain how in tonight's Conversations with Great Minds."

The following two videos are from around 2011 - to understand the allusions - but still a good overview -

Trump to Ask for Sharp Increases in Military Spending, Officials Say
LINK:
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/26/...6&nl=breaking-news&nlid=54852892&ref=headline
TEXT: "WASHINGTON — President Trump will instruct federal agencies on Monday to assemble a budget for the coming fiscal year that would include sharp increases in Defense Department spending; major cuts to other agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency; and no reductions to the largest entitlement programs, Social Security and Medicare, according to four senior administration officials.

"The outline, drafted by the Office of Management and Budget director, Mick Mulvaney, is the first volley to the federal agencies. Departments will have several days to comment on the plan, and congressional leaders will be alerted ahead of Mr. Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

"In putting together their budget plans, White House officials are operating under the assumption that the rate of the United States’ economic growth this year will be 2.4 percent, slightly ahead of current projections but well below the 3 percent growth that President Trump promised during the campaign, according to one person who has been briefed on the matter.

"For next year, the operating assumption is only slightly higher, that person added."

You know, the whole of it is one great scam. Everyone knows Trump is one massive embarrassment, and that he 'won' because of serious election manipulation. No one cares - who could initiate something. It's incredible when you really think about it.

Consider the below article - what are these immigration people thinking? Who are they? How can our society suddenly turn on a dime and accept that such behavior on the part of 'authorities' is acceptable? We know we have 'bad apples' in our police forces (in L.A. one police official tried to submit - secretly - a list of 300 'bad apple' deputy sheriffs - and got called out and denied!). Listen to what Mem Fox describes - a 70 year old woman, Australian, children's author - and she is one of scores of people who should not be caught up in any sweep. What do you these people think they are doing?

Forget Russia - regarding the election - if anyone was really seriously appalled they would be investigating the election from the domestic standpoint. Trump (and Pence) could be removed in a trice. But no one who could wants to 'go there' - and I am including everyone, Democrats included.

However, Russia is a concern given how 'bought' Trump is - John Oliver just did a montage of all the times Trump has mentioned Russia and Putin. It's astonishing how 'bought and paid for' Trump is. They clearly have the goods on him. Crazy.

Quinnipiac University National Poll: February 23, 2017 - Republicans Out Of Step With U.S. Voters On Key Issues, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Most Voters Support Legalized Marijuana
LINK: QU Poll Release Detail
TEXT: By wide margins, American voters oppose several key proposals by President Donald Trump and/or Republicans in Congress, ranging from across the board tax cuts to oil pipelines to the wall on the Mexican border, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. [2/23/17]

Voters support 54 - 38 percent "renegotiating major trade deals with other countries, even if it means paying more for the products you buy" and support 87 - 10 percent increasing federal spending for roads, mass transit and other infrastructure, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh- pe-ack) University Poll finds.

But American voters oppose other measures:
  • 62 - 31 percent against reducing taxes across the board, even if it increases the deficit;
  • 51 - 38 percent against restarting the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines;
  • 60 - 37 percent against building the wall on the Mexican border, with 65 - 33 percent against the wall if the U.S. must pay for it;
  • 76 - 18 percent against lowering taxes on the wealthy;
  • 50 - 43 percent against lowering taxes on businesses and corporations;
  • 54 - 34 percent against removing regulations on businesses and corporations;
  • 63 - 27 percent against removing specific regulations intended to combat climate change;
  • 54 - 43 percent against repealing the Affordable Care Act.
The U.S. should deport all immigrants, 19 percent of American voters say, while 22 percent say the U.S. should deport only immigrants who have committed any crime and 53 percent say only immigrants who have committed a serious crime should be deported. Three percent say no illegal immigrants should be deported.

"He rattled the rafters with bold calls for pipelines and tax cuts, a big wall and a new health care plan. But while his base may be eating it up, a broad portion of the electorate is telling President Donald Trump there is a big difference between campaign bravado and an agenda that works for all Americans," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

A total of 32 percent of American voters are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" that they will lose their current health insurance if the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, is repealed. A total of 68 percent are "not so concerned" or "not concerned at all."

A total of 50 percent of American voters are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" that the cost of their current health care will rise if Obamacare is repealed. A total of 49 percent are "not so concerned" or "not concerned at all."

A total of 44 percent of American voters are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" that the quality of their health care will get worse if Obamacare is repealed. A total of 56 percent are "not so concerned" or "not concerned at all."

Legalized Marijuana - Marijuana should be made legal in the U.S., voters say 59 - 36 percent. Republicans are opposed 61 - 35 percent and voters over 65 years old are opposed 51 - 42 percent. Every other party, gender, education, age and racial group listed supports legalized marijuana.

Voters support 93 - 6 percent legalized marijuana for medical purposes if prescribed by a doctor.

The government should not enforce federal laws against marijuana in states that have legalized medical or recreational marijuana use, voters say 71 - 23 percent. Voters in every listed group support this position.

That Russian Thing - A total of 64 percent of American voters are "very concerned" or "somewhat concerned" about President Trump's relationship with Russia.

Voters support 72 - 23 percent, including 52 - 43 percent among Republicans, investigations into the potential links between some of Trump's campaign advisors and the Russian government.

Alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election is a "very important" or "somewhat important issue" 65 percent of American voters say. [How about asking if people are upset about domestic election fraud?]

When even George W. Bush sounds sensible, you can see how bad Trump is by comparison:

The Trumpsters wanted change at practically any cost. What is the price of democracy?

“In practice, this is a war on a century’s worth of work to keep our air and water clean; our food, drugs and workplaces safe; the rights of employees protected; and the marketplace fair and unrigged. It’s one thing to make regulations more efficient and no more intrusive than necessary. It’s another to say that all the structures of democratic government designed to protect our citizens from the abuses of concentrated private power should be swept away.”

“It’s a very strange moment. Trump and Bannon are happy to expand the reach of the state when it comes to policing, immigration enforcement, executive-branch meddling in the work of investigative agencies, and the browbeating of individual companies that offend the president in one way or another. The parts of government they want to dismantle are those that stand on the side of citizens against powerful interests.”

Jimmy Carter: The U.S. Is an “Oligarchy With Unlimited Political Bribery”
TEXT Excerpted: Former president Jimmy Carter said Tuesday on the nationally syndicated radio show the Thom Hartmann Program that the United States is now an “oligarchy” in which “unlimited political bribery” has created “a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors.” Both Democrats and Republicans, Carter said, “look upon this unlimited money as a great benefit to themselves.”

What Is Your Name? Where Are We? Who Is President? Oh God. This used to be a routine test.

An Emergency Doctor’s Experience Informing People Trump Is President
TEXT Excerpted: As an emergency doctor, one thing I cannot take for granted is whether or not a patient is fully oriented. To assess this, I ask four basic questions: What is your name? Where are we? What is the date? Who is the president of the United States? If the person knows all four answers, they are said to be “alert and oriented to person, place, time, and POTUS.” When they get one of the answers wrong, it is good practice to reorient them.

Just by the math of it, several times per week, a patient of mine answers the POTUS question incorrectly. Jimmy Carter seems to be a favorite. Last week I had a patient tell me that Obama was the president. When I told him that Obama’s term was up, he wanted another guess. He went backward to Bush.

All kinds of things can cause these lapses in memory, from chronic dementia to a temporary head injury. So, some patients are alert, conversant, and are otherwise “with it” enough to understand the gravity of the news I end up breaking to them. It’s actually a fascinating moment, and I have become deeply curious as to what each patient’s reaction will be. Each time now, I stop, take a big breath, look them squarely in the eyes, and then I reveal to them the full, undeniable truth of the situation: The president of these United States is Donald J. Trump. I pause. I do not break eye contact.

For the most part, it isn’t pretty.

Looks like Trump gained in popularity. Quite a speech he gave.
