I respect Don way too much to ever ban him, even if her weren't a mod. He's done way more work in this stuff than I have ever done (I've done none), and just because I disagree with someone does not mean he doesn't have a valid point. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

I know, and I'm glad my post was taken as intended...tongue-in-cheek. I get the feeling Don would still punch me in the eye if I was in front of him while he read it, though.

I think this is a clear case of an argument that got too heated because of the medium...texting through a forum. If you two would have been in front of one another, the 'heated' part of the discussion probably would have never occurred. Sometimes the discussions people have here are easily mis-represented because it's done through text and a lot of communication is lost just with written word. At least if you're not careful.

Phillip Klass may have been a good science writer about aerospace topics, but having seen him on tv and heard him on several different specials/shows/documentaries, I came to really dislike the guy because he was a True NON-beleiver, and no matter what evidence was presented to him, it was either a natural event or it was faked- there was no inbetween or room for doubt with that guy, and anyone disagreeing with him was crazy or a hoaxer.
I saw him with Don Ecker on a show back in 1997 I think it was, and Mr.Klass would make ho-ho-ho ha-ha-ha noises and guffaw whenever Don would say something, but I guess being rude isn't a crime, it's just .....rude. He treated Don with contempt and off- the- bat completely discounted anything Don said. I haven't liked him since, and it's very hard for me to respect someone like that.
To me, Phillip Klass is the very definition of what a true non-beleiver skeptic is, and it gives a bad name to honest skeptics.
