...I pointed it out so that you could better understand Lance's possibly mistaken perception of your otherwise potentially innocent on-air commentary.
The only thing I need to understand about Lance Moody is that he spends too much time trying to disprove what he doesn't believe is real in the first place. What's the motivation? And its obvious that he relishes every opportunity he can possibly construe to passive/aggressivly bait me and piss me and others off. He twists our words, quotes us out of context and comes across as if he knows more than most of us put together. Sad. He reminds me of that little kid on the playground that continuously goes "na-na-nee-na-naa, I know you are, but what am I." Really sad. Since he claims monitoring "paranormal" sites isn't a job and he's not on someone's payroll to be so adversarial, perhaps his ilk would be best advised to go out and find a more rewarding hobby and try and befriend people instead always being at odds with them...

All I know is, it's a shame that episode got so horribly mangled from the original.

OBrien now claims:

"I would say that the show was changed drastically by the network"

See, now it is the network...but that is not what his original claim was--that Bigelow did it. It is so hard to pin paranormal and conspiracists down as we see above.

It's whatever you want it to be, right Chris?

Just like when you saw a glint on a helicopter and then decided that it was camera taking pictures of you (seriously! Chris actually said that, too)
Such silly nonsense.

Lance

You know very little about that process. If Bigelow vetoed something or it went against his agreement than yes, the network would have forced changes. I think that's all Chris was saying. I never heard anyone say Bigelow "made the decision," but he certainly influenced it. That really is not so hard to believe, unless of course your only goal is to be confrontational.

I've had my disagreements (and agreements) with both parties in this little brouhaha.

So what follows is just my opinion, not taking any sides.

Ive watched the show, and heard the claims.

I'm not seeing any "conspiracy". As Chris said he and ryan gave 3 hours worth of interviews, the show was 45 mins long.

Do the math....... stuff got cut, its relevance is relative.

I did get a thrill to see Don, Chris and Ryan on-screen, To think ive had conversations with real life TV stars, Its enough to make a grown man swoon :D

tick-tock...... the silence is deafening...

OK Newbies: Bottomline for those of you that need to be brought up2speed... FWIW: I've been actively monitoring Robert Bigelow's machinations since his involvement w/ Linda Howe back on the early 90s and the creation of Robert Bigelow's National Institute of Discovery Science (NIDS). Bigelow made his fortune several ways, most notably with the Budget Suites Hotel chain.

I was one of the first investigators brought into the Sherman Ranch ("Skinwalker Ranch") case as the initial Deseret News article (June/July 96) brought national attention to Terry & Gwen Sherman and their ranch in Ft Duchesne, UT. I had already been dogging "NIDS" publicly for over two years to publish their scientific data and urged them work with the research community instead of trumping everything w/ Bigelow's "private citizen" card. During my visit to the ranch the first wk of July 96, I was asked by Terry to help him sell the ranch to someone that had the means and wherewithall to study the strange goings-on that he claimed was occurring there. He was in fear for the safety of his family and he came across to me as a sincere, stand-up guy living a nightmare of strange creatures, portals discharging 40' triangular ships, poltergiests, cattle mutilations, weird oversized animals etc the list goes on and on. I supplied him w/ Laurance Rockefeller and Robert Bigelow's phone numbers, but, before Terry could call them—Biggie read Zack Van Eyck's article (July 96) called him; made him an offer he couldn't refuse—signed him on as ranch manager—and then locked the whole scenario down into the realm of "proprietary knowledge." Anyone involved w/ NIDS and/or the ranch was forced to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure-Agreement)," EVERYONE—no exceptions! Just before Terry signed his NDA, I arranged for David Perkins to speak w/ Zack and he then conducted the last public interview w/ Terry Sherman The Ranch From Hell. The section that describes Terry's dogs being "turned to butter" fails to mention that I was on the phone with Terry while the events of that evening were unfolding. I received a blow-by-blow, live description as the horrific events were occurring and I wrote the whole thing down as it was happening.

In 1999, I finally decided that it would be more productive to attempt to work with NIDS scientists as opposed to dogging them to publish, publish, publish. That is a whole different thread... T2Me later if you're interested... Through the efforts of myself and others, NIDS was shamed into being somewhat forthcoming and they did publish several very important papers that debunkers like Lance conveniently ignore/forget and obfuscate. See me after class about these papers, I still have copies for non-time-waters.

Remember: Bigelow has NEVER published a single paper or article about the Sherman Ranch. The only semi-"official" cooperation was awarded to then NIDS managing director Colm Kelleher and crack Las Vegas investigative journalist George Knapp when they garnered Bigelow's cooperation to publish Hunt For The Skinwalker (2005) which (alas) only contained several on-the-record names, got important dates wrong (like the dogs turned into grease piles episode, for instance), contained no scientific data, no photographs, no maps no charts and introduced into the "Gorman" Ranch scenario the whole "skinwalker" element that (imo) is undeserved, not warranted and may be a big, fat red-herring. I still recommended the book to people—it is worth reading— but I caution folks that it is a fun, fascinating, sleight-of-hand whitewash (to some greater/lesser degree) that doesn't tell the whole story by any stretch. I admire greatly George and Colm (they are both stand up guys and true gentlemen) and I can sympathize that their hands were tied as they were (obviously IMO) only allowed to publish certain things about the case.

The same holds true for this recent JV Conspiracy Theory episode. Funny how history has a way of repeating itself! It doesn't surprise me in the least that the original vision (as it was relayed to me in LA, w/ the executive and coordinating producers, segment researchers and Tyrell Ventura present— a vision I helped create) was watered down, bent, folded, spindled and mutilated and compromised. But, you've gotta hand it to Jessie! To my knowledge, he is the first person to get Bigelow to agree to be quoted on camera for a nationally televised show about the so-called "paranormal!" Hell, back in 97, no one knew what the guy even looked like and the TV show Strange Universe sent a well-paid photographer to secretly get a photo of Biggie at UNLV. Biggie promptly bought him off to NOT take a picture. Everyone has a price. Hey, if you're a billionaire, your $ makes things happen around here on the ground (and in Biggie's case) up in space!

So, (In My Humble but informed Opinion) obviously there was a price that had to be paid by truTV (and their hired production company) to accomplish this coup. Hats off dudes, but shame on you for allowing what could have been an historic segment about an important (but shadowy) figure who has sunk MILLIONS OF DOLLARS INTO THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF PARANORMAL PHENOMENA, and what I consider to be the most important (potential) case of paranormal activity that has ever been scientifically studied! I don't care what you, Lance, James Randi, Penn, dweeby debunker mirror-gazer types or anyone else has to say about my opinion re: this subject of the Sherman Ranch/NIDS/Bigelow: Whether you like it, want to acknowledge it or whatever, I am one of a handful of people that has truly followed this amazing case and the ensuing, groundbreaking scientific effort that has unfolded over the last 20 years... Up until now, Biggie has never showed his face and addressed the subject—hey, at least we're making progress!

Talk amongst yourselves... I'm done here...

Who is this woman behind the Colonel's head?

@Lance - I agree with you that there are way too many people in the field claiming to have evidence but never sharing it. I detest that and it does the field no good at all.

But - what is your opinion of eye-witness testimony? I'm sure you know the argument about eye-witness testimony being enough to put people in jail or worse. Are we never to believe eye-witness testimony?

Also -I think a reason there is so little tangible evidence for UFOs is that if any UFOs are indeed non man-made structured craft not from Earth, well what evidence do you expect from objects that don't need to come back and land on earth for our inspection? I mean, if they exist and don't come from a near airbase but only do whatever in our skies and then bugger off someplace we don't know - all we can have is eye-witness testimony and footage? Until someone really tall can get lucky and reach up and grab one out of the sky against it's will, we will always lack the evidence you wish for (and me).
