What is your favorite meal to eat? Your absolute favorite meal, that if you could never have it again, you'd sink into a deep depression.

I ask, because I'm looking to try other things than my usual fare.

ooh, what would depress me if I never had it again? macaroni with butter, cinnamon, and sugar.

Don't have one. I've tried to pick a favorite but can't figure it out. Kinda depends on mood too I think. But, tacos, pizza, hamburgers, Arby's Beef and Cheddar (probably nothing unusual). Some of my favs. Someone brought me something from Waffle House awhile back I loved. Some egg, ham, cheese sandwich. I loved it. I been craving Bojangles of late. Haven't had it in years might be why.

For reasons I don't understand, I love the show Hell's Kitchen. Maybe watch that show and get some ideas if desperate. All of them can be seen on Youtube. Hell, I been re-watching some seasons. Again, I don't know why.

CHOCOLATE

Chocolate brownies / choc-chip cookies / white chocolate / smarties / hot chocolate fudge with chocolate topping / ANYTHING MADE OUT OF CHOCOLATE.

OK, I've given this issue more thought, and I'm going to expand the menu:

2nd Ave Deli in New York (on 33rd Street & 3rd Ave., yeah, they moved) - they make the most amazing coleslaw, NO mayo (which makes it perfect for moi), full-sour garlic pickles, chicken cutlet, mashed potatoes, kasha varnishkas or boiled carrots, Dr. Brown's diet back cherry soda. THAT is my perfect meal. Am I Jewish, or what?! Damn, I'm hungry now. :p

A close second would be a certain little Buenos Aires place that made the most amazing grilled chicken and empanadas. Seriously, I didn't have a single meal down there that wasn't astoundingly good. Makes you realize that we live in a society where excessive food additives have really ruined our palettes and diets.

Oh, yeah, fresh strawberries from the San Rafael farmer's market. I could make myself sick by eating nothing but those things for a day or two. My honey came to California with me, and those strawberries ruined her as well, the stuff we get back on the east coast sucks by comparison. The Honeycrisp apples partially make up for this, though, and if you like apples, you owe it to yourself to get ahold of some Honeycrisps. They're the perfect apple, crunchy with a slight pineapple tang, just too good.

Sea food tagliatelli the way my wife makes it with mussels, squid, prawns, scallops, octopus when available and crab, all doused in extra virgin olive oil with some freshly ground black pepper and sea salt. Along with some garlic bread, delicious.

Also I like the chicken super burritos from a little place called Viva Mexico, in Sebastopol california.

And for dessert, let me see. How about either black forest gateau or apple strudel and custard.
At the moment I still haven't even had breakfast, so thanks for that Tommy you can guess what I'm gonna do next. :)

Is apple strudel another name for apple pie? If so, then Im with ya there.

I fricked LOVE hot apple pie with crisp crusty edge and vanilla ice cream.

Yeah I guess it is, only strudel as I know it has raisins, cloves and some cinnamon and nutmeg and the pastry is sugar glazed.

Mmmmmm Yummy.

I may have a new favorite.

Not a single person has included latkes in their menu.
What the hell is wrong with you people? Have you no sense of civilized decency? Or has that wedge of dried out pastry suckins' permanently stuck to the roof of your mouth dried out your taste buds?
I've said it before: there is no hope. We're doomed.

And what about Tandoori chicken? That's always one of my favorites, when properly done of course.

Wait... You're Jewish?

If it's done right, Chicken Tikka Masala is one of my faves.

One time I was in college, and was working a roofing job and in what could be the ultimate role reversal, was putting the gutters on the house of a Hispanic Family. Anyway, the wife made us Chicken Mole' and ever since that day, I've never had anything that came close to how good that was.

almost anything my mom and first and second mothers-in-law cooked, including potato pancakes, was better than anything anywhere else. if anyone is familiar with rouladen, that is a dish that just makes your mouth water. so are pierogies with home-made sauerkraut and diced mushrooms, onions...

Just give me a plateful of bocconcini alla panna di bufala (authentic bite sized mozzarella balls from southern Italy), and a strip of prosciutto crudo to wrap around each one before I pop them in my mouth (prosciutto is sort of like very thinly sliced raw bacon, but then again it's not like that at all).

Just that, maybe a plate of ripe, juicy tomatoes fresh from the garden, and a bottle of Yellow Tail merlot.

That will be my last meal.
