To make it very easy for people to digest the term "New World Order" in the context I think it is used it let me flush it out. It simply states an ideology of gloaliazation over independent national sovereignty. You don't need to even add in esoteric reasoning or other nefarious conspiracies either. It's an ideology.

The problem with this ideology is quite simple though. Any person that is elected in say, the US which is a Constitutional Republic, has to work within the frame work of US laws. They can be Conservative, Liberal, or whatever they want to be except to push policy that is not legal to the US Constitution. If they wish to have international policy over what they are elected to represent the very people who pay their salaries then I take serious issue with them. It is treason to me. That is often what people who have this mindset do and people need to call them on it.

So by that token, they did vote. They voted for their leaders so that they would LEAD. If they don't like the direction they're leading in they can always vote them out. If they can't vote them out then that means they're the minority and thus on the losing side of the democratic equation.

As for progress, I'd say it's inevitable. Look at fiction. Name me a single piece of sci-fi film or literature that doesn't predict either a unified planet or one divided into at most three factions (caveat: stories based on hstorical do-overs like the Nazis winning WW2 or something don't count). I'd bet they are few and far between.

You'd be unwise to ignore them. Everything that makes the modern world what it is, EVERYTHING from planes to computers to cell phones to tv was predicted before hand in science fiction. From Jules Verne to HG Wells to Gene Roddenberry. These people are the visionaries and their visions become reality over time, making the consistent vision of a unified earth inevitable.
