Yes, a great classification for Reed/Rutter. I think there have been few who have gone to the lengths that he did to create the illusion. The amazing thing is the amount of people who bought into it and the length of time it continues to circulate. When you see things like that you assume there was some pay-back for him that made it worth it, or should I say continues to make it worth it for him, whatever that may be. I think he continues to promote the whole thing as the truth rather than performance art, which might be a better way to pitch it.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. It seems obvious that the rules of entertainment and show business rather than journalism govern pop Ufology, particularly in this case. I think that is just the reality of producing any program about any subject for television, radio, and other media today. I'm not knocking that, it is just a reality. Buyer beware.

I think you are right. My local news runs regular "news stories" about American Idol and other entertainment programs on the network along side "real news" stories.

Gene, without saying you are referring to a post about Jaime Mauson, out of context people might think you are talking about someone else. Like George Noory, Open Minds, Bill Birnes, MUFON...
 
I recall my encounter with syvia browne she missed the way my great grandfather died by a mile and was so sure about it she moved on without any investagation on her part.
 
I didn't deal with mediums, psychics, seers, faith healers etc. in my original post, they are almost another breed as I can't imagine that any of them are genuine. Given the nature of the performances required, it's hard to believe any of them are just duped into belief of their own powers. Most of these make their money by exploiting the emotional vulnerability of damaged people. While some are just entertainers, many are predatory grifters.
 
I have been following this with my husband. After our sighting in 1998 my father talks all the time about aliens and one man who he says meet them. so I ask here who has information about Howard menger? My father is convinced this man meet aliens I think he is a liar. so who is Howard Mengar?

Tragic but true

In a tight knit community like this we each get one voice one vote.
The use of sockpuppet accounts is akin to vote stacking, it voids the democratic principle, which is a vital aspect of honest discussion and debate

To create an extra account, is Fraud
To use it to tell lies like "im an athiest" is Fraud
To deny it was him when caught....... Fraud

This is the main reason we thought long on having Rikki create her own account But my wife is willing to close her account to avoid such. She will do so upon request of a mod or admin.also if any one wants a pic of us togther send me a private.

I dont see a problem, my wife and i have used the same forums in the past, we both have accounts at the military times and other places as an example.
You and Rikki have been open and honest about your accounts, and used them accordingly.
There is zero problem in your case as far as im concerned

But to be honest this is more than just multiple accounts in this case.

Steve used that account to troll people, and whats worse he used it to attack people who had despite the odd difference in opinion been nice to him, People like Trained , Stonehart and Angelo who had treated him with dignity and respect even when they disagreed.
And he used this account to insult and bait them, thats unforgivable in my book.
Its like saying face to face, "we are cool", and then sneaking over in the dead of night and slashing their tyres.

This is more than stacking the vote, more than using a sock to "get his point across", he used the deception to attack and insult people who had treated "Steve" with dignity and respect, accounts aside "Steve" the person made a choice to repay that respect with deception and insults.
This goes beyond accounts and speaks to us of the person ......... and i think he knows this.

When confronted by Angelo, with the proof of his deception, he denied it.
What a wicked web we weave Steve, thats the nature of the beast, when you tell a lie, pretty soon you have to tell another to cover the lie, then another and another.

He tried to cover his fraud......with more fraud.

And that speaks to me of his base nature.

He tried to paint me, more than once as a bad person for telling Chris what i honestly felt about some of the things he said, but i at least had the courage to knock on his door and tell him face to face what i felt, i didnt sneak over in the dead of night and slash his tyres like a coward.

He's a two faced liar, he's exposed himself for what he really is. Tyder01 is the deception, Danny Torrence is the real Steve......................Safe behind what he thought was a secure disguise, he showed his true colours

In all honesty i am not angry for me, i have thick skin and im not angry about the attempt and methods used to smear me here.

But i am disgusted he would present one face to people like Rick and Stonehart, who treated him with dignity and respect, and then repay that the way he did. Or to lie to Angelo who again has treated him with respect and dignity, only to have that thrown back in his face via the Danny Torrence account.

Weve seen the real Steve, and its not pretty

We dont have to agree on anything, but have the conviction to own your pov.

He used this account to engage in cowardly attacks on people who had treated him like a friend.

I chose not to forgive or forget

Some may not like my pov, but at least ive been open and honest about where i stand.

What you see, is what you get. no suprises, no deception.
 
Any post I write I sign Bob and I share the same PC so I can't post sometimes right away. But I share his dislike of fraud. and it seems this gentleman was using his account to hoax this site. What Bob has not mentioned yet is I am WICCAN and observe the seven fold law. Kama is a cruel master. and he will reap the rewards of his karma seven fold. if not in this life in the next. the wheel of life is a harsh teacher and that what he sowed shall be reaped.
