The guest had been saying, basically, that demons were flying the saucers (so to speak). But do demons even exist? Where does the idea come from? How did it evolve as part of the bible storyline?

This is an interesting topic by itself -- no doubt worth another forum thread.

Anyway, here's a girl with Tourettes syndrome who exhibits all the classic characteristics described in the NT as a possessed person. Is she?

Her brain disorder can be studied, the faulty wiring mapped and -- in some cases -- treated. In the volcanically active fertile crescent, well water was often contaminated by heavy metals. Brain damage resulted. This is not the only reason the idea emerged, but certainly a very dramatic one.

so, in a nutshell, it is very easy to see how things can get out of hand because you don't believe what I find to be believable, and I don't believe your cause, either.

so much for informed dialogue and a back and forth discussion of differing ideas, eh?

What are we talking about again?

Oh yeah, demon aliens from hell! And then we got into "is religion good or bad?" and "Is God real?" and some excellent mud slinging and Mother Teresa slinging too.

Back to demon aliens. What happens if you say something like "in the name of Jesus Christ I claim the power to kick some serious alien ass"? Because the suggested Jesus incantation is a bit unimaginative and boring. Know what I mean jelly bean?

You guys ever hear of the three mighty men of David from the old testament? God gave one of these guys super killing power just to defend a field of lentils. He sliced and diced 300-800 men all by himself! Until they were all dead and his sword fused to his hand.

Would God give me super killing power to fight demon aliens from hell? I wanna crack some demon skull in Jesus name. That would be awesome!

I finally listened to this today.

Without commenting on the actual content, I will say the guest sounded like a really nice guy anyway. How much easier it is to listen to someone with extreme beliefs when they're civil and don't try and force them down your throat.

juxtaposition of Lucifer (never really ever positively identified as Satan in the texts)

FYI:
Satan isn't a person, the best translation is like Accuser, think of it more as an Office like district attorney, the roll could be filled different people, i.e. Lucifer is an accuser, but conceivably their could be others, Azazel etc.

Oh, interesting. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks! You've got my brain churning over this... could be dangerous. :p

no one is talking about demons being aliens, especially when the bible for example has 5-6 different catagories of spiritual beings people confuse as simply demons.

what the guest was talking about is more a entity called the Watchers, or Nephilim, this is completely different than demons and holds a few similarities with UFO mythos.

I wonder why people forget that even in the 60's (not all that long ago) the UFO movement was filled with lots of "spiritualists" that would channel aliens to talk with them, mostly Nordic looking people.

Is it because taking that data into account ruins current "ET" and "Close Encounters" movie views of aliens we have all decided to adopt?

Culture and perception has played a HUGE roll in what people categorize as aliens. Remember, the Nazi scientists that helped us build the bomb and start NASA used to channel "help from other worlds" to get their technological advancements, or so they said and believed.

Sounds to weird to be true? look up Vril society or watch this about 7min in:

Such a credible fellow is Bill Birnes, the guy who mistook the foundation of a water tower for a secret Nazi experiment. Bill is probably the most credulous UFO 'researcher' active today. A great entertainer, but not somebody to be relied upon for much of anything. He's certainly not evil like Greer. It's just that he will believe anything, in the same league as LMH. If he does come upon any truths, I guarantee you it's by accident.

Well then I amend my prayer to read...
Dear Lord, I wanna crack some serious nephilim skullage in Jesus name. Amen

I made the mistake early on of interpreting the "experience" phenomenon through a Biblical filter. I was pretty miserable during that period. I now think it more likely that most religion was either given to early humans by malevolent entities as a tool of manipulation, or else formulated by men for the same purpose.

wow, if that is how you research everything no wonder you are so ill informed.

The image, is of bill burns, the content in question is about 7 min in and is an interview with only one of many historians not bill burns, that relate this info about the Nazis.

But yeah, its best to just refute something without listening or even looking into what it has to say.

Remember most books, you can judge them just by looking at the covers, no need to actually read anything.

Lame. :D

Sounds like a completely un-biased, un-bitter and very fact based statement. NO need to have facts to support it, personal opinions and experiences are usually more reliable than researched historical facts and truths.

Good for you for finding that out! ::)

What facts, exactly, are we talking about here? You can't even establish for certain that Jesus was really an historical figure, much less all this nephalim crap you purport to be 'fact.'

I saw the entire show. Using anything from UFO Hunters as evidence is what is lame. Not credible. You may as well use a Mickey Mouse cartoon.

Totally!!! you are so right. The fact that I used a pulp show to quickly give people some of the information I was pointing out means that it's totally unreliable!

Good for you. It's great to be able to discount anything without thinking about it.

But hey, I can tell thinking isn't your strong suit to start with.:p

Is that all you got, Uberdoink? Personal insults is the only way you can respond? Do you ever respond to the actual issues involved? I've noticed that when people bring up pretty good points your response is to completely ognore the issue and come up with either a personal insult, such as above, or take off on some irrelevant tangent.

How Christian of you.

Um, the fact that you're stating this about Schuyler is beyond the pale. I'll go out on a limb and state that Schuyler is one of the most intelligent people I've ever encountered in my life - period. So keep going, I'd love to see if your foot can go ever deeper down your throat. Wow.

I go on tangents?

You stated that when I reference the Nazi's involvement with the Vril society and how THEY crediting channeling information through mediums with their advanced technology

You completely discounted the entire statement just because it was also stated on a UFO hunters show by a guy they were interviewing.

Hows that not side stepping the issue?

and David... until i see otherwise I stand by my last comment. :D

that could very well be true... i guess he's just choosing not to address the issues, use facts or historical accuracy in his posts.

I do have to admit I have a limited window on who he is, but from the recent posts I've read...
