I still think you are glossing over the fact the Tea Party concept is not made up of by the majority of racist Neo-Cons, Gene. While every man can have his opinion, I can say mine is based on personal involvement on the topic and not of reading various news publications online that support my ideology.

I didn't say the majority. But the birther movement is born of racism. The outlandish theory is that Obama was not born in the U.S., that he is a Muslim, that he is not one of us — that he is…black! That's the train of logic behind it, and it's totally wrongheaded! You can say you think he's the worst president ever because of what he's done and his beliefs, and that's fine. But when people make up fake stories to question his legitimacy in office, they are moving into treacherous territory that does ring of racism. It doesn't mean all the people who support this craziness are racists, but that's its source.

If you want to talk legitimacy, you can examine the Supreme Court's Bush v. Gore ruling in 2000 and see whether Justice Scalia shouldn't have recused himself from participating because of his known associations with the Bush family and Dick Cheney.

I don't know for sure. There is evidence to suggest otherwise. If there is any doubt, which there is, then it needs to be fully investigated, it hasn't.
It is not even proven that he is black. If his father was half black and half arabic, and his mother was white, then as I understand it, he would not be legally black.

You're lost it man! Most black people are not 100% black, so he can legitimately call himself black if he wishes. His physical appearance is clearly more black than white.

This argument is over! If we're going to descend to this level, I'll close the thread and be done with it.

Yikes... I am a racist? Not a chance. A lot of my clients are black, several members of my family are black, A Nigerian family lived with my family for a year, etc etc etc...

I just do not like Presidents who lie.

Why has this thread degenerated into the "birther" stuff? Honest question. Can we move on past this part as all it if going to do is cause insutling? If we want to debate about Obama, we should do so over polices and ideology, not this stuff IMO.
