The knowledge of these wars today come from History Books and the people who were around back then. I'm not talking UFOs at all - I'm just commenting on the fact that we can't just say that there is good evidence that there was a war between gods - there is NONE. Only words in a book that have been interpreted by a few people as saying that.
You can believe it you wish - I have no problem with that at all - just don't say that there is good evidence.

If there was a war between non humans in the past, honestly, do you actually believe you would be told about it or be shown evidence by Governments to prove it? If there is evidence, for such a war, this evidence recovered or discovered is behind lock and key, probably so, so not to upset or narrow view of reality. " Angel you were not around during the American Civil war, but you know, this war happened from the books you read at school. Those events happened less than two hundreds years ago.

But history that is three or four thousand years old. There is enough mystery connected with those times to enable me to question some of the tales we read about in History Books, every day. I think there is enough information around to at least discuss it!!! The UFO phenomenon is important here because flying machines have been flying around in or skies for centuries if not not thousands of years. Someone must own them!!!

I think there is lot of evidence (ok information) to enable me to a form an assumption, that maybe that the Tuatha of Biblical times and Tuatha of Ireland, Might? own some of these aerial vehicles. Plus certain cases in Ufology do perhaps point to a Tuatha connection. Blonde haired Humans and Small dwarf like creatures. Tell me of any other mythology besides the Djinn that would fit the Pattern of these Beings been Witnessed by people?

Not everyone agrees that it is a historical text. Some people, like myself, have problems with the fact that everything in it was written long after the time period that any given text describes and that most people and events in it can't be found anywhere else that wasn't derived from its source documents. It's 66 books written by a wide variety of authors living in a wide variety of time periods, in different cultures about alleged events that they personally could not have witnessed. It was assembled and massaged into its present state over centuries by religious zealots with different agendas. Some may disagree from some point of faith that it is an "inspired" work, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to say what I've said about its origins is untrue. In short, its only a historical text if you place faith in the notion that it is divinely inspired. Otherwise its a collection of various myths, legends, and questionable oral histories constructed by 'believers' for 'believers.' Fortunately in this time in history everyone is free to believe what they want to about it. Sadly it hasn't always been so (the religious zealot thing again.)

As long as you admit it's an assumption, it's fine. I just feel as though you're now asserting that the government is hiding this bizarre god war - it's absolutely ridiculous.

It is historical in terms it was written during a period of history when Humans moved from Paganism to the christen faith. Paganism has been tainted by the christen Religion, we know today, most of the oldest cultures we know about were Pagan and they were highly advanced. They were studying the stars for God sake. With the coming of this emerging religion and what happened during the dark ages. All Sciences were held back... Explain that in the context of what i have talked about? I already said i have serious problems with the Bible and it was written around 15O years after Jesus. But like i said i believe the Jesus STORY is a false myth. I think i am on to something. Take or leave it. It does not matter to me.

Absolutely not.

And here's another thing; this would the sort of secret that keeps itself. Even if somebody found out and decided to "blow the whistle" no one would believe them, then it's off to jail for leaking classified info.

Or maybe they just have an accident and that's that: just another crazy who had himself an accident...

So it your assumption we are being told everything and Government is blissfully unaware there in unknown vehicles flying around or skies. They know something ANGEL. I never said Government is hiding stuff. I said if there was evidence found that confirmed such a war. I said we would be told nothing. I don't think is far-removed from reality. Honestly Government can not even admit this Phenomenon might exist, and you hardly think they would reveal to us. That the Devil and God might have been off-world visitors who fought each other for some reason in the Planets past.

In the bible, aren't "'The Lord" and "God" appear to be two sepearate things?

That is to say "The Lord" sometimes refer to themselves as 'we' and 'our' (as in "let us make man in our likeness").

Does it make any sense that "the Lord" and "God" may be two separate things?
 
Lord is just a higher person that rules over someone else. GOD was called O Lord because he ruled over man. In medieval times people who were of Higher class were called Lords they owned Lands and people lived on those lands and paid taxes to the Lord. I not sure, but my understanding God and O lord is the same thing.

I was responding to a post "YOU" made!! I said if Evidence was found, we would not be told nothing and it would be covered up. I never made the claim this actually happened. And yes it is, but that was my point, it would be hidden from us. It was speculation not fact maybe your confused?
 
With all the stuff being said in this thread, yeah, I'm confused...
Anyway, I don't have much more to say. If believing in all this stuff makes you feel good, enjoy it. My feeble brain can't grasp the idea of all powerful gods battling each other. I'll blissfully ignore it and enjoy stuff that's real.

Well, the only reason it's alien is because I can't view history in any other way than what is considered fact. If the facts are wrong, so be it, and I will accept it when real alternatives are proven to be true. I just don't like making up things so that it does fit into the way I would like it to be which is what I feel you are doing in this case. You want to believe in God and the Devil, so thinking that they waged some kind of war makes things interesting for you.
It's similar to the Nostradamus lovers that apply stuff that has happened to what he wrote. He has never predicted anything, he just made general statements that manage to fit into many situations.

I'm speculating on past history. I don't believe in God and the Devil. I said i believe there might have been a battle between races long ago that was documented in the Bible but in a christen context . Around 10 medieval- historical books from Ireland claim there was a battle between a number of different Races long ago. One of these Wars was between the "Tuatha" and a "Milesians" that came through Spain from Greece.
I recently in the last two days found information about the Tribe called the Milesians. Aristotle said they came from Miletus, a city in the Anatolia province of Modern day Turkey. So the Milesians in the Book of invasions were a real people and they came from Greece to Ireland in ancient times. To remove the Tuatha from Ireland!!! There is more to this then me just assuming Angel!!!
 
Have you given any consideration to the kind of psychological pressure and stress the individuals of (as Phil suggests) a super-secret organization dealing with inter-dimensional intruders must face in their daily lives?

It just occurred to me that the television series Fringe is about such an organization that is aware of a parallel universe or dimension and attempts to deal with hostile intruders coming from it. I love the show.
