Humanity is addicted to growth
People with an addiction do not have control over what they are doing, taking or using. Their addiction may reach a point at which it is harmful.
Addiction: Causes, Symptoms and Treatments

Even when they person can see what the addiction is doing to their body and social connections they just cant stop.

India shut down its schools last month, they like china are choking on the very air they breath, Their populations continue to grow

We react to the consequences while ignoring the causes. Humans being biologicals CANNOT self regulate, thats always been natures job in any animal population humans are no exception

Bottom line, the facts are in front of you. I have shown you enough. Open your eyes and look for yourself. It's up to you, because there's not much more to say before I suggest people put you on Ignore and move on.

So clearly Gene, you admit defeat. You have shown me NOTHING but unsubstantiated accusations and grey banter. That's it, we are done. Clearly Bannon is NOT a proven racist or an anti-Semite. That's all just fear mongering and paranoia.

Are you like talking in a mirror or something?

Everything you accuse other people do of doing is actually what you are doing.

You must be very angry with yourself.

Australia signed the Paris agreement

No New Coal Mines is a campaign for a global moratorium on new coal mines.

If Australia succeeds in its plans to double its coal exports, the world's plans to tackle global warming will fail.

Australia has a larger share of the seaborne coal market than Saudi Arabia has of the world oil market, and it plans to sell even more over the next 10 years. Any deal reached at the Paris climate talks in December will undone by the planned thermal coal expansion projects in Australia and a handful of other countries.

About the No New Coal Mines

Bread and circus's

We say we will work to fix the problem, but open a bunch of new mines because the money is just too good

If Australia succeeds in its plans to double its coal exports, the world's plans to tackle global warming will fail.

We will open those mines, and the plan to tackle global warming will fail.

Economic growth is the fix, the junkie will have its fix even as it sees its body get sick
i could post images of air and water pollution in china and india, but you know what i mean.

If humanity cant fix those problems at a local level when its effecting them sooo badly, there is no hope on a global scale

I grew up in the Erie Pennsylvania area. Erie County is staunchly Democratic with 30,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans. Erie County voted Republican for the first time in decades.

General Electric is the largest employer in the county. In 2016 there were 1,500 layoffs alone. Interviews after the election show that the residents were tired of years of unfulfilled promises. Many voters decided to roll the dice and give Trump a chance.

All the protesting in the country doesn't address the problem that there is a class of citizens losing their jobs and being left behind. Like the Brexit vote, these people figured the government didn't care about their welfare so the opted out.
This is a real problem. At the same time, Trump has no valid plan to restore those jobs or create new ones to replace the ones lost. Remember, he used Chinese steel for some of his buildings. People believed Clinton/Obama had their chance and failed them, and were desperate to find something new.

But if Trump doesn't show the way in the first six months to a year, the outcry will be deafening.

Not at all. I just realize you are not paying attention. You are just repeating the same nonsense over and over again, however many times it's refuted. I admit you are beyond hope and that nothing anyone tells you to set you straight will have any impact.

I have utterly and equivocally defeated both yourself and Gene today in the forum. Anyone can clearly ascertain that fact for themselves by going back through this thread. I PROVED it was you that are in fact a liar, and Gene is factually baseless.

You see, you can juggle your circular and literally insane logic till your blue in the face marduk. The truth talks, and your ride just ran out of gas on a very long stretch of desert two lane.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source, obviously. He probably edited it himself, or had his aides do it. Critical commentaries would be deleted.

Research the outrageous and inflammatory Breitbart headlines too.

No, you haven't. You've proved nothing, not a thing. You have no grasp of facts whatever, or pretend not to, and if you don't stop trolling and pay attention to what people tell you, I might have to give you a timeout to consider your options.

I'm not asking you to agree. I'm asking you to stop telling falsehoods about people to our readers, and actually read the material shown to you.

Mining
We are developing and operating mines in India, Indonesia and Australia. Apart from India, we supply coal to China and we aim to spread our wings to Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea etc. Our extractive capacity of thermal coal has increased threefolds to 4 MMT in 2014 and we aim to extract 200 MMT per annum by 2020, making Adani one of the largest mining groups in the world.
The project has a potential mine life of 90 years.

An investment of approximately $10 billion.

A permanent work force of 4000 people is anticipated.

The mine is expected to be around 45 kilometres long.

Carmichael Mine is located on the Moray Downs cattle station (Isaac Regional Council area), about 160km north-west of Clermont, QLD.

Mining operations are expected to be a combined of 6 open pit and underground workings.

Each pit is expected to produce 10 million tonnes of coal a year.

Coal destination and stockpiling at Abbott Point coal terminal near Bowen via a 185 km rail line (to be built) where it will join the the existing QR National Network; and

Coal exports are predominantly headed for India with the first coal exports around early 2016.

Wont be our air that looks like this so show me the money......

You did?

Gee you're subtle. I didn't even notice.

What colour is the sky in your world?

Btw I spent some time in India a couple years back.

5 days in and I started to cough every few minutes.

9 days in it became uncontrollable.

And that was in 5 star hotels and shiny new offices with filtered air.

Someone told me that 2 out of 3 children there are in respiratory distress. I believe it.

When I landed and my driver/bodyguard picked me up, it was late at night. I looked up at the sky on a clear night, and asked the driver why the moon was brown.

He said "sir? The moon is brown. What colour is the moon in Canada?" Stifling a laugh at my expense.

I said "silver. The moon is supposed to be silver."

To which he responded "no, sir you are mistaken. The moon is brown, sir. It has always been brown, and it will always be brown."

Not being on my Radar prior to today i dont claim to be correct, but this

Early life
Bannon was born on November 27, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1976 and holds a master's degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University. In 1983, Bannon received an M.B.A. degree with honors from Harvard Business School.[8]

Bannon was an officer in the United States Navy, serving on the destroyer USS Paul F. Foster as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Pacific Fleet and stateside as a special assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.[9]

Business and media career
After his military service, Bannon worked at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department.[10] In 1990, Bannon and several colleagues from Goldman Sachs launched Bannon & Co., a boutique investment bank specializing in media. Through Bannon & Co., Bannon negotiated the sale of Castle Rock Entertainment to Ted Turner. As payment, Bannon & Co. accepted a stake in five television shows, including Seinfeld. Société Générale purchased Bannon & Co. in 1998.[11]

In 1993, while still managing Bannon & Co., Bannon was made acting director of Earth-science research project Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona. Under Bannon, the project shifted emphasis from researching space exploration and colonization towards pollution and global warming. He left the project in 1995.[12][13] After the sale of Bannon & Co., Bannon became an executive producer in Hollywood. He executive produced Anthony Hopkins's 1999 film Titus. Bannon became a partner with entertainment industry executive Jeff Kwatinetz at The Firm, Inc., a film and television management company.[11] In 2004, Bannon made a documentary about Ronald Reagan titled In the Face of Evil. Through the making and screening of this film, Bannon was introduced to Peter Schweizer and publisher Andrew Breitbart.[11]

From 2007 through 2011, Bannon was chairman and CEO of Affinity Media. From March 2012 to August 2016, Bannon was executive chairman of Breitbart News LLC, the parent company of Breitbart.[14][15] Under his leadership, Breitbart took a more alt-right and nationalistic approach towards its agenda.[16] Bannon identifies as a conservative.[17][18][19] Speaking about his role at Breitbart, Bannon said: "We think of ourselves as virulently anti-establishment, particularly 'anti-' the permanent political class."[20]

Bannon is also executive chairman and co-founder of the Government Accountability Institute, where he helped orchestrate the publication of book Clinton Cash.[6][11] In 2015, Bannon was ranked No. 19 on Mediaite's list of the "25 Most Influential in Political News Media 2015".[21]

Seems reasonably typical to me, keeping in mind my only experience is with loud tourists in Hawaiian shirts and what i see on the TV

But then if on a micro scale a local level dealing directly with the consequences of overpopulation and pollution they cant solve the local problem, how could we fix it globally.
Look at the Adani mine as an example, that coal will make it even worse in india, but the pristine beaches and skys of surfers paradise wont be effected

“Critics See Stephen Bannon, Trump’s Pick for Strategist, as Voice of Racism”

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/15/us/politics/donald-trump-presidency.html

"anti-Semitic writings on the Breitbart website and to allegations from Mr. Breitbart’s ex-wife that he had made anti-Semitic comments about the students at his daughter’s school."

Steve Bannon, Trump's Top Guy, Told Me He Was 'A Leninist' Who Wants To ‘Destroy the State’

There's a distinct reason very intelligent individuals are concerned. Again.., Bannon is not your garden variety propagandist.

Do you think that all the hate crimes taking place in the US are not of a result of Trump's rhetoric?

We know that protectionism actually does work in the short term we saw it in europe in the early part of the last century.
The benefits dont last as other countrys start to push back and punish the protectionist ones, but in the short term the policy might work

And its nothing new under the sun as far as the US is converned

Historically, protectionism was associated with economic theories such as mercantilism (that believed that it is beneficial to maintain a positive trade balance), and import substitution. During that time, Adam Smith famously warned against the "interested sophistry" of industry, seeking to gain advantage at the cost of the consumers.[8] Friedrich List saw Adam Smith's views on free trade as disingenuous and really in support of a long-term British program for economic domination.[9]

According to Michael Lind, protectionism was the policy of the United States from the passage of the Tariff of 1816 to WWII, "switching to free trade only in 1945, when most of its industrial competitors had been wiped out" by the war.[10] In the late 19th Century, Germany, too, used protectionist measures to grow its industry.[11] After WWII, Japan followed that model.[12] It has been argued that Deng Xiaoping's post-Mao policies were inspired by List,[13] and that policies in India after independence were, as well.[14][15]

The first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, advocated tariffs to help protect infant industries in his "Report on Manufactures." For the most part, the "Jeffersonians" strongly opposed it. In the 19th century, statesmen such as Senator Henry Clay continued Hamilton's themes within the Whig Party under the name "American System."

The fledgling Republican Party led by Abraham Lincoln, who called himself a "Henry Clay tariff Whig", strongly opposed free trade and implemented a 44-percent tariff during the Civil War—in part to pay for railroad subsidies and for the war effort, and to protect favored industries.[16] William McKinley (later to become President of the United States) stated the stance of the Republican Party (which won every election for President from 1868 until 1912, except the two non-consecutive terms of Grover Cleveland) as thus:

Under free trade the trader is the master and the producer the slave. Protection is but the law of nature, the law of self-preservation, of self-development, of securing the highest and best destiny of the race of man. [It is said] that protection is immoral…. Why, if protection builds up and elevates 63,000,000 [the U.S. population] of people, the influence of those 63,000,000 of people elevates the rest of the world. We cannot take a step in the pathway of progress without benefitting mankind everywhere. Well, they say, 'Buy where you can buy the cheapest'…. Of course, that applies to labor as to everything else. Let me give you a maxim that is a thousand times better than that, and it is the protection maxim: 'Buy where you can pay the easiest.' And that spot of earth is where labor wins its highest rewards.[17]

Where have all of the recent hate crimes originated from occurring in the US? Unequivocally, they are a direct result of Donald Trump’s campaign rhetoric along with Steve Bannon as chief propagandist.
