Putin’s attempt to influence the outcome of the election via hacking

I find this a strange aspect of the campaign.
Those damn rooshins, perennial enemys of the US, threating our national security again.
Using a percieved threat as a political ploy isnt new, Trumps using ISIS.

But we got hacked by china recently, stole the building plans and wiring diagrams of ASIO's new building, but our response wasnt to call china a bad guy.
It was to blame ourselves for lax security. I mean if you leave your wallet on the roof of the car when you go into K-Mart whos to blame when you get back and find it gone. Yes the bum who took it is a bad guy, but its your fault ultimately.

If you get hacked you should be looking down the barrel of your own finger first

I don't think the individual is necessarily responsible for being hacked. What about tens off millions of Target customers who made credit and/or debit card purchases, only to have their data stolen? They just bought something from one of these stores. They did nothing wrong. That's very different from leaving your keys on the counter.

Surely the incumbent govt can "find" his tax return though
No, it's not legal to disclose that information. While there have been hacks, the sparse records of Trump's 1995 tax returns came from a whistle blower, perhaps someone working for the Trump organization.

Wittingly or unwittingly? Just who is financing Donald's lifestyle these days. We know he owns lots of money to the Chinese, of course, and it appears he used Chinese steel for some of his recent U.S. construction projects, while promising to bring back such jobs to America.

Russia? When asked, he obfuscates rather clumsily. That's suspicious. Was he promised money by Russian oligarchs, or does he already owe them lots of money. Is that something one might find in his "secret" tax returns?

Donald borrows lots & lots of $$$. Donald can’t pay it back. Donald and his family is threatened. Donald plays puppet.

Or, Donald cuts a deal to share the pie ...

To quote Lord Byron

"Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine."

But there are limits, for me its all about context.

Again apologies to anybody who is offended but I fail to see what is funny about the mentality that results in this:

Comedians are artists and therefor have artistic licence to push boundaries and use language in their performance that would otherwise be unacceptable.

However much it may seem like it is, this election is not a joke, we are living in very strange days indeed.

Ahh mine is a different conspiracy

Trump and the clintons are friends, daughters are besties. Clinton plays golf and goes to trumps wedding.

All 4 are sitting in the jacuzzi one night (my eyes my eyes) and Hillary says im gonna run in 2016, but i worry i will waste my time, its a long shot they will elect the first woman president right after the first black one, If the republicans throw a decent candidate up i dont have a chance.

Ahh Haaa says trump "i have a cunning plan" i will run against you, and i will footbullet myself so bad, so bad, you will be the only reasonable choice"

A clear lessor of two evils.......
Don't get me wrong, I like yours a lot, but mine has more intrigue for an international audience.

Exactly in these days of wikileaks and whistle blowers and given this is a high stakes game, that sort of smoking gun should percolate somehow into the public eye

Can you imagine the implications if mine were whats happening though ?
That the belief we the people actually had a say in elections, was 100 percent illusion.

It reminds me of a conspiracy theory i once heard regarding pedestrian crossing lights. That the lights ran on a cycle and that the button you push if you want to cross did nothing. It was just there to give you the illusion you had some control and thus stopped you from crossing as it suited you rather than waiting for the green walk signal.

Of course the customers have no blame. The question is whos at greater fault the hacker who stole the data or the store whos security didnt protect it.

Down here its actually illegal to leave money in your car in plain sight, not even change for the toll booth. Because the cops are sick of filling out forms for broken windows over the loss of a few bucks in change.
it is illegal to leave your car unlocked, leave the key in the ignition or leave the windows open if you’re more than three metres away from your vehicle?
In NSW each of those offences comes with a $99 ticket, in Victoria each is a $141 fine

That is not a precedent anyone wants to set. There have been plenty of opportunities over the years, but it would destroy whatever trust is left in the IRS. There may be a leak, but it won't come from there.

In any of this as a practical matter; why wouldn’t Trump just play along with the big boys without upsetting the GOP? At one point, he actually had a shot, (unbelievably) at the presidency.

That is why even though dubious, I just can’t see it, unless he just wants to take it far enough without actually being elected.

Which would be consistant with his being her Foil in order to ensure her win

Foil (literature) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The word foil comes from the old practice of packing gems with foil in order to make them shine more brightly.[6]

Maybe thats his function, to make her look like the better choice in spite of her (as perceived by some) shortcomings

Or, Trump never wanted to run for the presidency in the first place and was forced via an outside agent who in turn wanted to destabilize the election process without having the idiot win.

One thing we can hopefully agree on …, he is truly an idiot.
