I'm sorry I'm so late to the party and the depth of this thread is obviously a testament to the division in America. But maybe someone can explain something to me because here in Canada we will not tolerate politicians being openly & overtly racist, homophobic, misogynist and irrationally hateful. Sure we have our subtle bits of those hatreds buried in some conservative politicospeak but when you are overt you are let go from the party because you are a liability.

So what's going on in America? Do you hate women that much that you forgive all of Donald's overt hatred or is it about hating monarchies (re: Clintons) - I just don't get how he is even tolerated, or is there still just a huge chunk of America that is very racist, honophobic and misogynist? It's very perplexing to watch from the outside.

What does that lack of genuine linked substantiation tell me? Oh that's right, it's supposed to tell me that a direct link to your brain is the best little fast food theocracy in town, and that I would do well to take your word like it were a jewel in the forehead of some third world temple God. Welcome to one of the worst chapters in US political history where you have, (according to electoral maps), a large portion of the county who feel disenfranchised because of the gutting of the middle class. Ironically enough, in the past years the middle class has enjoyed a higher level of income. In addition, there are the anarchists who would like to overthrow the govt @ any cost (fat chance) and start anew. These individuals are primarily middle aged, white, under educated, under employed, blue-collar types. Then you have the die-hard republicans who will vote in a lunatic just to be the winner. They could really give a crap about Trump’s ways with women, his ability to lie per every three minutes of face time, or, his apparent psychopathy. They really could care less that he treats his employees like scum & pals around with a country viewed as a terrorist organization.

But you know, this is one serious element of this election. Make no mistake that Trump might very well win, but win or lose, he's made it clear that he will 'go after' those who have opposed him. In fact, I have been watching all the disaffections from him among Republicans and I am thinking it is happening for a far more profound (and deeply scary) reason than any of us are tracking on.

He most often makes his threats of pay-back against women, though. I'm not even aware that he's threatened men - has he? He threatened Hillary during a debate. He has threatened Megyn Fox for speaking 'man-to man' to Newt Gingrich - something along the lines of "watch what happens to her after the election." He has threatened the women that came forward (with witnesses to the facts of their stories) with sexual aggression incidents - and so it goes.

We already know he intends to try to get the libel laws altered if he's elected.

There is something really heavily nasty afoot here. A very dark seam of human nature is being called out and is being given voice and body (it's our equivalent of ISIS, in fact - we are experiencing what those countries in the Middle East have been experiencing with ISIS in a religious sense - ours is secular ISIS event). It's a serious and troubling event. No matter what eventuates - and I am hoping Hillary wins - it will not be clear sailing. Something ugly has been given voice and body and will not rest until chaos is achieved (like in Syria). The 21st century is proving to be, and will be, I think, a hard time to be alive, while the earth transforms.

Comey’s bombshell announcement yesterday that he’s directed investigators to begin reviewing new evidence in the Clinton email investigation flew in the face of years of precedent about how to handle sensitive cases as Election Day nears. The Department almost always refrains from announcing investigations close to elections for fear of impugning the integrity and reputation of a candidate when there’s no finding by a court or even an indictment.

"For this reason Janet Reno, the Attorney General under Bill Clinton, stopped the prosecution of a politically sensitive criminal target prior to an election. In another case, the FBI opened an investigation into a high-ranking public official shortly before an election but delayed sending any subpoenas until after the election for fear they might leak and unfairly tarnish the official. (That investigation ultimately concluded with no charges.)

"Comey’s defenders say he would have been criticized had he withheld information about new Clinton email evidence until after the election. But he didn’t actually provide Congress or the public with any substantive information yesterday. And he actually didn't say whether any of this involves email from Clinton, and not email from her aide and that aide's estranged husband, Anthony Weiner. Nothing has been said about involving Clinton's email server.

This is a very poor move, as it demonstrates a political motivation. Comey is, lest we forget, a Republican, and he has not acted as someone without a personal stake in the matter.
