UFO Hunters (latest episode - police and UFOs)

Did anyone else notice the HUGE wrench Maccabee used as a visual aid to show a helicopter on UFO Hunters last night?

And don't anyone dare tell me there was no huge wrench.

UFO Hunters (Mexican crash - HOLE)

I saw a post on the History Channel's discussion area for the show that reminded me of something I thought was funny.

They used spectrographic analysis to figure out that there was motor oil around that hole in the ground????

That's like using a howitzer to shoot a tin can.

I flipped on UFO Hunters last night. They were talking about "The Drones". Seriously, what's the deal with this? Anyone with 1/4 a brain, and 2 minutes with Google can figure out those are fakes. Annoys to no end.

Show jumped the shark, again.

:(

I thought it had jumped the shark too after seeing the intro, but they ultimately declared the drone stuff to be most likely a hoax. They just dragged it out over the course of an hour.

I could have done without the drone stuff. By that I mean, it's not worth bringing up to John Q. Public. However, drones keep coming up on Dreamland with Linda Moulton Howe bringing on these witnesses who claim to have seen drone-like craft years ago. It's intriguing, but I still say that there are more than enough solid cases that there's no need to trivialize the issue further with weak or confusing cases.

Dolan's lectures do a much better job of outlining the reverse engineering topic.

I was wondering if they came back to that in the end— I fell asleep well before the end. I Tivo'd it though.

Drone stuff really gets under my skin. Being a graphic artist I know when I see Global Illumination artifacts. I use Cinema 4D all day and I can see the inaccuracies in lighting, the grainy shadows etc. It's just total bunk. For UFO Hunters and Linda Howe to not put 5 minutes of time in Google to find out this info is a discrace. She predicates stories and podcasts on this crap with a Hillybilly per day coming out of the wood work saying they say a drone. What's really sad is when Whitley Strieber states that he saw one of these things. Telling.

I hear you. I'm on Photoshop and 3dsMax all day and thought that the drones were some fairly cool looking models.

I would kind of like to see a report ON Howe though. How and where does she find some of these witnesses? Conventions and conferences would be my guess. Or maybe any wacko that writes to C2C gets a form letter with Howe's and Hoagland's numbers for further correspondence.

I would love to see David shred her methodology-- if you could call it that. What annoys me is that she latches on to this crap and then the next week has a more credible report with some Stephenville locals. Muddies the water.

She gets calls from loons that listen to C2C and Whitley's podcast. I actually sent her an email. She defended her position because she got a few corroborating reports from "anonymous" folks that said they saw a drone. Because they descibed the same thing that was all over the web for weeks—it's credible to her. Come on.

Regarding the drones. My favorite is that issac document with the modern typesetting, current graphic design trends and that same render that was obviously printed and then zeroxed a few times.

I finally got a chance to watch the latest episode...

For chrissakes.

To even entertain the notion that the Drone "photos" are anything but CG renders is just ridiculous, and I'm surprised that Macabbee didn't make the call right away. The first guy they speak to - Schussler, I think, an ex-NASA guy - was fascinating, but Uskert makes a bit of an ass of himself asking WHERE ARE THE UFOs, it was painful to watch. And then they huddle with none other than Ralph Ring, who is just a joke. Yeah, he was in the ship, it lit up, and lo and behold, Carr tells him that they they didn't notice that they had traveled for miles, but look, there's dirt in your pocket, you just don't remember picking it up because your brain was disconnected. Well, that last item is 100%. Otis T. Carr may have hung out with Tesla towards the end of his life (though there is no proof of it, as far as I know, and Carr seemed to be perfectly willing to lie at the drop of hat), but I promise you that Tesla didn't teach him anything that would lead to the "vibrational" spaceship. What a load of B.S. When Ring was on the ATS Mix show, he told those guys all about how Carr said that Tesla was a very humble man. ANYONE who has studied anything about Tesla knows that the idea that he was humble - in any way - is just flat-out nonsense. At least they state on the show that Ring is NOT a scientist. No s h i t, Sherlock. He's no engineer, either.

And then, instead of just asking me if the "drone" images were CG, they go to some guy I've never heard of, who dispenses the wisdom that we all knew over a year ago. And that Acworth dude may be a scientist, but let me tell you, he knows squat about imaging and CG. The photo analist dude plops a simple geometry on a background plate, and Acworth proclaims that it LOOKS REAL. Jesus R. ChickenCheese.

I'll leave the end experiment alone, to verify nonsense from the Car Ring is just beyond the pale. I won't go into all of the deep problems with the "experiment", and how it proves JACK S H I T.

Birnes proclaims that the Roswell crash was not a disk, but is a crescent ship? Bill, where did THAT come from? Next time he comes on the show, I'm gonna spank him for that little nugget, and for this episode overall. It was just terrible.

This show is unwatchable. I don't even watch these types of shows anymore. Its just a rehash of the same stuff over and over.

David, can you guys put together a video podcast for this Bill Birnes spanking? I think we need the visuals for this one. He needs a swat for each episode they've put out. Yah, those experiments are super nutty—aren't they...

Also, I think Linda Howe needs a DB chat—just like that Italian researcher at the Atlantic City convention ( her name is escaping me at the moment ).

I like UFO magazine because a few of the authors make me think. One finds little nuggets of information here and there.

But I stopped watching UFO Hunters because Birnes is a sensationalist. No matter how tests come out, especially results that tend to disprove his theories, he manufactures implausible crapola at the end of each show while his team looks like a deer caught in headlights. I guess everyone needs a paycheck, but I don't have to waste my time anymore.

Bill Birnes has destroyed his reputation. Absolutely destroyed it. It is gone. He is a hack and is the epitome of what is wrong with "researchers" in this field. He should, from this point on, be relegated to the same shithole you throw Hoagland and Howes nonsense into.

I think we should boycott UFO magazine as well. If that publication has his seal of approval on it then it is shit covered shit with shit filling!

I fully expect the hosts to ream Birnes a new one when he's on the show again. I know he's a friend of the show and advertiser, but he is as bad as Sereda now, and even put MLH on the show to prove it!

I kept watching episodes of this show hoping they would get better, but they have only gotten much worse.

Birnes is constantly ready to make the leap to Aliens on everything, and when he called the guy a hybrid in this episode I fell off the couch!

I haven't seen any episodes yet, but the thread got me curious, so I checked youtube and there are some episodes up there. Type in "ufo hunters" duh and they should come up. Anyway, going to try and give them a watch. Not sure how long I'll last though.

I can't even finish watching the shows. When I am watching I'm usually doing something else at the same time. When he told that guy that he was a hybrid I was like whaaaaaaaaaat? Hit the tivo and rewound. Silly stuff. Gotta love the fake drama where Bill's associate gave him a piece of his mind for calling the guy a hybrid.

There it is. I was looking for how to say this.

What I've watched is pretty obviously staged, where the dialog is used as exposition to move the "story" of the episode along. In this kind of show it's not surprising there would be some of this, but here it's done just too awkwardly (in my opinion).

Ok, I just saw the premier episode and thought it was pretty ok. Bill wasn't on there from the parts I saw. I didn't care for the first part, because the case was boring to me, but watched all of the second case which interested me a lot more. This the same show you guys talking about? Linked is just the last part. Yes, I think they probably rushed into hypnosis with the guy, but other than that not too bad.

Maybe other episodes are crap, but I didn't think the one above was anything terrible.
